August 30 - Rehearsals - getting into gear - only 10 days to go!

=> Yeeehaaww!! The tour is coming closer now! Exitement is rising! Yes and the band gets into gear and shape for the tour. Right now, they are in London for rehearsals. Thankfully, we have some pics tweeted by Ronnie (see below), Mick and Keith to give us a taste like it is at the LH2 studios in London where they rehearse. Yes, I like what I see!!

August 28 - Ronnie and his girls at rehearsals

=> Ronnie tweeted nicely again from rehearsals. He got his 2 lovely girls at the studio saying in order to "Starting tem early..." - indeed! What a cute pic! Not very much information from rehearsals apart from this, but I'll keep my eyes open. Ronny also started practicing again with the beginning of this month. He tweeted a short exerpt of his playing with the note "Trying to get my sticky fingers back into gear" - enjoy!

Ronnies girls at rehearsals - starting them early

August 23 - Rehearsals have started

=> It's one picture we all just love so dearly: that's when the sign at Charlie's drumkit says "Open!" instead of "Closed!" And that's just what we can see below on the pic which Bernard Fowler shared on Facebook today! Meanwhile, we know, thanks to Patty Hansen, that Keith, too, is on his way!

London No Filter Tour rehearsals have started! London No Filter Tour rehearsals have started!

August 17 - Rehearsals start next week / Opening for the Stones in Austria: KALEO from Iceland!

=> Rehearsals are going to start next week! Ronnie spoke to Steve Wright on BBC Radio 2 and said: "We are starting to rehearse next week, we always love that. Really, it's like a family reunion, a meal that goes on for about a month then we go out on the road. ... We concentrate and its hard work. It's a conscious effort on all of our parts, right from rehearsal. ... Next album is ongoing, we have some in the bag and I think now we're getting together again we'll see what direction things are going to take." Go to BBC online and hear Ronnie talking about the next album! He also commented on Elvis' passing away 40 years ago. Also, elkodaily.com has a notice about this.

=> Icelandic rock band Kaleo and John Lee Hooker Jr. will open for the Rolling Stones in Spielberg in Austria in September. Guitarist Rubin Pollock: "It’s just crazy, unreal really. I started laughin when I heard about it, thought it was kind of funny ... It’s incredibly fun, getting to open for the biggest rock band of all time." See icelandmonitor.mbl.is for some more fun remarks about this.

August 8 - Ronnie's luck

=> Lucky once again and hopefully once and for all! Our dear Ronnie tells about his cancer diagnosis... As you can see below, May 25, we already know that Ronnie luckily escaped a deadly diagnosis of lung-cancer. But now he tells the story himself, and it is told with raw honesty. See rollingstone.com and/or dailymail.co.uk for this.

Lucky Ronnie and his lucky daughters

August 4 - Fonda Theatre 2015 to be released September 2017

=> Sticky Fingers @ the Fonda 2015 to be released September 29 as DVD, DVD+CD, Blue-Ray, DVD+3LP! What a band! Just ahead of this year's european No Filter tour, with the next tour of the UK ahead next year and a new album right now in the making, plus the release the Their Satanic Majesties Request, we are truly blessed with the longevity and creative stamina of these guys we all love so much. So during the upcoming tour, we will see the release of the gig at the Fonda Theatre, where The Rolling Stones played for once the whole of the album Sticky Fingers plus some more songs. Enjoy the teaser below! Some details/tracklists: rollingstones.com

July 31 - 50th-Anniversary 'Satanic Majesties' Box Set

=> SATANIC Box-Set to be released on September 22! Her Satanic Majesties himself requested for a feast on behalf of Her 50th birthday - so what can a poor boy do? Well, how about a nice, sinister box-set to celebrate the anniversary? So here you go: we get a limited edition deluxe double-vinyl/double-hybrid SACD box set which contains new remasters of both the stereo and mono mixes of the album, plus a 20-page book featuring photos from the original album cover shoot, all housed in packaging that replicates the original 3D lenticular artwork that served the psychedelic high of those Stones-times, i.e. 1967. I say: NICE!! :-)

July 28 - Mick's Gotta Get A Grip is out!

=> About time! Just after his birthday, Mick has a present for all of us! He just released a new EP with 2 titles: "Gotta Get A Grip" as well as "England Lost"! Let's enjoy! See more info at universal-music.de and this landing page.

July 27 - Mick's birthday yesterday / Tickets released

=> Better late than never: HAPPY birthday Mr. Jagger!!! Mick became 74 yesterday and he seemed to enjoy himself as he tweeted: "Thank you for all the birthday wishes and messages, I’ve enjoyed reading through them today and playing some music!" He's really one-of-a-kind and simply the best Rock'n'Roll frontman living on this planet. Period! :-) Can't wait to see him again strutting his little ass on stage! What a man! What a band!!

Mick celebrates his 74th birthday

=> Some last ticket-contingents have been released, this is maybe the last call: go to rollingstones.com/tickets and check the link for your favourite date(s). In most cases, there are quite some of the released tickets left - for Hamburg, Munich and Düsseldorf it was 300 tickets, for instance... good luck & bon chance!

July 25 - Yup, Ronnie's gotta new book out!

=> Ronnie Wood Artist! That's the title of Ronnie's new book, to be published by Thames & Hudson August, 21. Amazon in the UK has it, too, for £24.95 plus some nice examples

July 24 - Ronnie in Barcelona

=> Very nice pic of Ronnie, enjoying the rain on a balcony in Barcelona! Indeed a great shot! Thx to c.radtke from IORR for finding the Instagram-pic. Also, Nate from IORR said that Ronnie might release a new art book and that it would be presented in the Picasso museum there - wow! Sally is also with him. Also, rehearsals for the tour will start in August. Well, that sound reliable! ;-)

Ronnie in Barcelona, July 2017

July 23 - Keith, are you inspired to get back in the studio with the Stones and do some more recording?

=> Keith says the Rolling Stones are about to head back into the studio to start recording their long-promised new album. "Yes, we are - very, very shortly. ... Cutting some new stuff and considering where to take it next. Blue & Lonesome caught us a little bit by surprise in that we figured it was something we had to do, but we didn’t expect the response... " B&L II? "I don’t think we’re going to sucker into that straight away, but it wouldn’t take a twist of the arm to do some more of that. It’s such fun to record, and there’s plenty more where that came from." See his statement at YouTube.

July 20 - Stones Knebworth 1976 CDs/DVDs set extended!

=> The Stones gig in Knebworth 1976 is legend. Our friend Henrietta at RockMusicMemorabilia-Dot-Com now has informed me, that the boxed set "1976 Rolling Stones Knebworth" now comes with a further DVD which contains 7 very rare tracks of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s performance at Knebworth '76. So in all, the set now contains 8 CDs and 5 DVDs and a real heap of other very nice stuff. Check out the astonishing list of all the different items at rockmusicmemorabilia.com and have fun by listening, viewing and reading... :-)

July 8 - New Maxi CD by Mick!

=> Mick's gonna release a new maxi CD, entiteled: "Gotta Getta Grip"! Release date: 21 juli 2017, Tracklist:

  1. Gotta Get A Grip
  2. England Lost
On instagram, dancer Shri B posted a pic from the video-shoot for "Mick Jagger's new music video 'Gotta get a grip'". Pre-Orders at kroese-online.nl or hmv.co.jp [THX 2 Dr. Johannes Delmere from UC for the tip]

July 7 - New album news / New Stones book

=> The release date for the new album could well drift towards next year! The band doesn't like to hurry, it seems. They are in their 55th band-year now (gosh!) and obviously, the number of new albums to expect from the band is somewhat limited... It seems that they wand to deliver a sound album the whole band agrees with. So they take their time, knowing, that they will sell out any tour to come ebven if it's not behind a new album. No need to hurry. It might well be their last album, so if they want to work on it some time longer than we first thought, I for one don't have any problem with that. So maybe, they release it after the No Filter Tour 2017 and before the UK Tour 2018? We'll see ...

=> Nice: later this year, a new book called "The Rolling Stones' TV and radio broadcasts from the '60s" will be published along with a DVD that collects many of these performances. Many of those performances, it is said, have never been seen before and were only recently discovered. The subtitle says "TV and Radio History As It Happened"; author is Richard Havers. See here for more infos at harpercollins.com and the nte at ultimateclassicrock.com

New book: The Stones On Air (in the 60ies)

July 3 - New album after tour?

=> Universal will pay £ 2 million for the new studio album! So the contract was renewed and the new album, which is still in the making, could be released after the european tour this year, as the Daily Mail writes. So we have to take these informations cauciously. Maybe they will release a single before the tour start, but nothing is sure yet. It seems that they take their time for the release.

June 30 - Keith in the studio again

=> Keith's in NYC in the studio; usually it's overdubs and mixing there ... (According to the dailymail.co.uk) So we can look closer to the upcoming album and tour. NYC or LA is usually the place for the band to get the mixing of the tracks thye got nailed down so far. They cut the list down to the amount of songs to finally appear on the new album and go on with adding finishing touches to the tracks. It seems they want to tour behind a new Rolling Stones album. Blue & Lonesome doesn't count here as a 'new' Stones album because it was just them playing the music they like and owe so much to. As you can see, Keith looks mighty fine. He's a driving force behind the new album and tour, you bet!

Keith in NYC on his way to the studio, June 30 July 2017

June 14 - Oh, no! Anita!

=> RIP Anita Pallenberg! Another farewell to a another good friend. Anita died yesterday at 75. Here's what rollingstone.com has about this. More details are still missing...

RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg RIP Anita Pallenberg

June 13 - 2 weeks of sessions in London

=> 2 weeks of recordings were finished last week! Thanks to schwoenk [iorr] for pointing this out: Martin Elliot's stonessessions.com has this to tell: "The band have just concluded two weeks of sessions (30 May - 9 June 2017) for an up and coming new album rumoured to be released later this year. The sessions were at British Grove studios in London. Don Was was producing the sessions recorded by engineer Krish Sharma and engineers from British Grove."
So when the tour starts in September, we'll have the Stones on tour with 2 (TWO!) new albums in the back! :-)

June 9 - Rehearsals continue in London!

=> Yup, the boys are rehearsing for the new album & tour in London! That's the good news for this weekend. As metro.co.uk states, the band was seen arriving at some studio in London for rehearsals. Although it is said, that rehearsals were for the upcoming tour (starting in October), we can rest assured that they are also busy working on the new album! Ain't that great?? Also great to see Ronnie getting back to work after his surgery.

June 4 - Ronnie celebrated his 70 birthday

=> Ronnie was born June 1st, 1947 and he celebrated his birthday in London until the wee hours last Thursday! Among his guests were Keith and Patty, Bob Geldorf, Bill Wyman and many others. So just shortly after a lesion has been removed from his lung, he seem to be well again, crisp sober and in fine spirits! Ronnie's ready for the tour! See The Sun for more.

Ronnie + Sally 70th birthday 2017 Keith + Patty 70th birthday 2017

June 2 - HAPPY 76th BIRTHDAY, Charlie Watts!

=> Without Charlie, no Rolling Stones! The silent, humble, greatest drummer of Jazz and Rock'n'Roll ever! Here's a nice portrait of Charlie at YouTube which I like very much, called If it ain't got that swing... - but I've shown that here at least 2 times already. Therefore, enjoy Charlie playing Monkey Man with his Rock'n'Roll band, in which he plays these days! :-)

May 27 - RIP, Gregg Allman

=> Brother Gregg died peacefully in his home in Savannah, Georgia at the age of 69. Brother Gregg, you will be truly missed! See rollingstone.com for a tribute by Chuck Leavell and more... for instance, The Allman Brothers Story: How Gregg Allman Keeps Band Going After Duane's Death is a nice read...

May 26 - Keith sells stuff for charity

=> Keith sells stuff Patty collected from his NY appartement in favour of Autism charity! As The SUN states, "The wacky lots include a leopard-skin patterned high-heel chair, a tea set with skulls - and even a flower pot that looks a bit like Mick Jagger. The auction, in aid of charities for adults with developmental disabilities, will take place in New York next month." Quite some nice and odd items there, although the flower pot doesn't really look like Mick, IMHO... :-)

Keith sells stuff Patty collected from his NY appartement in favour of Autism charity!

May 25 - Ronnie well after lung operation

=> Whewh - that was close! A spokesperson for Ronnie stated, that Ronnie underwent a successful operation to treat a small lung lesion. That lesion was discovered during a routine medical screening (obviously also caused by the upcoming tour and connected ensurances as to which the mambers of the band have to proove that they are capable and at sound health to cover the upcoming tzour) and was treated by a procedure called keyhole surgery. As is reported, Ronnie is feeling fine and no further treatment will be needed. In other words, the band's upcoming tour won't be affected.

Ronnie, who will turn 70 on Thursday, June 1. comments: "I'm so grateful for modern screening which picked this up so early, and would like to thank all the doctors who treated me,"

Rolling Stones, Detroit, July 8, 2015 - Ronnie: Doing the set list for tonight

May 17 - Extra tickets for NL gigs! // 3rd Paris show added!

=> Go here for infos on the extra tickets (mojo.nl) for the gigs in Netherlands - good luck!

=> The Stones have added a third show in Paris: October 25! Some tickets are still available!

May 16 - Next release "From The Vault"!

=> Apparently, the next "From The Vault" release will be the complete "Sticky Fingers" show, the Stones gave at the Fonda Theatre in LA almost exactly 2 years ago, May 20, 2015!. A german official instance caring for age control in connection with media releases features this DVD and giving it the lable 'free with no age limit' :-). It also mentions, that the running time is 86:35 minutes, plus a bonus of 14:47 minutes. See the pic below. stonesnews.com also has a setlist of the gig, right down at the bottom of the page, where the tourdates for 2015 begin... :-) [thx sympathyforthedevils.com, hockenheim95/iorr]

Next release 'From The Vault': Sticky Fingers at the Fonda Theatre, May 20, 2015

May 12 - Hopefully, you all got your tickets ready by now! / Custom 'stadium' + the new stage for Hamburg!

=> Well, I got my tickets ready! Hope the same for you, too!! Also bought Lucky Dips for Arnhem... :-)
As for the opening show in Hamburg, they will build a kind of custom stadium for this event. It's an open-air location in Hamburg's Stadtpark. Let's hope for good weather! ;-) It's capacity will cover 80.000 people, with 26.000 seats build extra for the show. And we will see the new stage for the first time (if nothing leaks through before), which has 1100 m2 and will be build up for the first time for this show. More details at Hamburger Morgenpost (german).

The Rolling Stones NO FILTER tour: Custom 'stadium' + the new stage for opening show Hamburg!

May 11 - WOAH! No UK dates for 2017 - but for 2018!!

=> Where are the dates for the UK?? That's what was asked a lot during the last days. Now, the Stones have released this Tweet: "Sorry to our UK fans that we cannot play UK dates on this run, due to lack of available venues, because of sporting fixtures. But we hope to be here in 2018!" - well, that's GOOD news, right?!

May 10 - LUCKY DIP TICKETS / App-Presail has started... / No gig in Ireland

=> There will be the "Lucky Dip Tickets" on this tour again! They are low-priced tickets (last year they were about $ 30.-), but you don't know which location you will see the band until you pick those tickets up in person on the evening of the show - so they are wildcard-tickets. It could be GA Standing, a seat in the back, side view or even FOS Pit. It depends on your luck. One this however is clear: you will see a Stones show for a nice price. It's always a pair of lucky dip tickets. See rollingstones.com for more info on this.

=> Ouch - Remember the rumours about the gig in Croke Park, Ireland? Well, the negotiations were close to final but were put down because "... they wanted too much of the gate money ..." as tabloid The Irish Mirror reports ... [thx edith, RO]
Here's what Billboard.com has to say: "The Rolling Stones Hitting the Road Again in Europe" || And of course, The Sun: "When is the Rolling Stones 2017 ‘No Filter’ European tour? Dates, ticket info, prices and venues".

May 9 - Announced officially: the "No Filter" Tour!

1. Sep 09 Hamburg DE, Stadtpark
2. Sep 12 München DE, Olympic Stadium

4. Sep 20 Zürich CH, Letzigrund Stadium

=> The Rolling Stones announced today they will play thirteen shows in twelve different venues across Europe in September and October, and unveiled the title of the new tour. STONES – NO FILTER sees Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood back where they belong out on the road playing to packed stadiums.

This STONES - NO FILTER European tour follows last year's ground-breaking tour of South America culminating in the historical concert in Havana, Cuba.

As always, the Rolling Stones will treat their European fans to a set list packed full of classics such as ‘Gimme Shelter', ‘Paint It Black', 'Jumpin Jack Flash', 'Tumbling Dice' and 'Brown Sugar', but they will also include a couple of unexpected tracks each night, and randomly selected surprises from their formidable arsenal of songs. For all of the European No Filter shows listed below the Stones will be unveiling a spectacular new production and state of the art stage design.

The tour, produced by Concerts West, kicks off at the Stadtpark in Hamburg on Saturday September 9,and then heads for Munich (Germany), Spielberg(Austria), Zurich (Switzerland), Lucca (Italy) Barcelona (Spain), Amsterdam (Holland), Copenhagen (Denmark), Dusseldorf (Germany), Stockholm (Sweden), Arnhem (Holland) and rounds up with two shows in Paris (France), at the brand new U Arena, the first concerts to be staged at this venue.

Keith Richards commented, "Hey Guys, here we come. See you there!!!!"

Mick Jagger commented, "I'm so excited to be touring Europe this Autumn and returning to some familiar places and some we've never done before."

May 8 - Announcement approaching? "STAY TUNED..."

=> THIS JUST IN!That's picture was just coming through the Stones App (thx. Spunky, iorr!) So we can expect something to happen on May 9, 09:30 CEST! Meanwhile, rollingstones.com has also a new intro! What can we expect? A Tour? An Album? A Tour & An Album? :-) Let's see what happens!

=> AAAAND another tour video just arrived:

Stones app: Stay tuned! STAY TUNED! rs.com

=> The rumours humm, there are hopes for some announcement by the Stones coming soon! Whether this week or next we don't know. RockerParis posted a note on Facebook, saying that some announcement would come. People noticed among other things, that the last Twitter posts by the Stones had largely to do with touring, rehearsals and fans... Today: JJF at Pinkpop 2014, May 6: Were you at these shows?, May 5: Tour rehearsals (She's So Cold), May 4: Streets of Love (Rome 2014), May 3: Start Me Up (Sweet Summer Sun). All just coincidence?? ;-) I doubt it! :-)

May 4 - Chicago plays the Stones

=> Buddy Guyx and the Stones are mates, right. Mick (as guest) and Buddy have recorded 'Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)' for an exclusive CD called "Chicago Plays the Stones", where Chicago blues musicians cover 12 Stones songs. That's just great, innit? Go and get a taste of those songs at chicagoplaysthestones.com - I think, these versions just kick a blues-ass, if you know what I mean... love it! Satisfaction like Tobacco Road, Angie like a John Lee Hooker song ... just great to hear these versions:
1. LET IT BLEED - JOHN PRIMER
2. PLAY WITH FIRE - BILLY BOY ARNOLD
3. DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO (HEARTBREAKER) - BUDDY GUY WITH MICK JAGGER
4. (I CAN’T GET NO) SATISFACTION - RONNIE BAKER BROOKS

April 29 - Awards, Interviews, New Tour + New Album!

=> A whole bunch of good news here!!! :-) Not only that the Stones got a nice Award, but Charlie also got the JazzFM Gold Award AND was interviewed. That's a rare occasion but not the only reason to enjoy it (see below), but he also said that they are still working on the new album and plan to play some of the Blue&Lonesome album during the upcoming autumn tour 2017 in Europe! How much fun it is to be a Stones fan!!

April 15 - New rumours for an autumn-tour

=> Yup, that's right! At a french site, sympathyforthedevils.com, we hear that a possible tour this autumn is hopefully getting closer to becoming a real option. [thanks for the tip, gotablouse, IORR] It is said that there could be 15 dates, beginning with France and Germany and that a gig in Paris in October could be likely. Apart from that, there's no further mentioning of the source of this statement. In any ways, we have to remain patient and hope for the best: happy easter everybody! :-)

=> May 26 is the release-date! As already mentioned here (see below, March 2) the latest concert movie after the Cuba-docu, "A Trip Across Latin America" is coming to home video. Apart from the movie, which most of us already know - ;-) - the release features seven live bonus song performances that were captured at various stops of their 2016 Latin American Tour. They are "Out Of Control" (Buenos Aires, Argentina), "Paint It Black" (Buenos Aires, Argentina), "Honky Tonk Women" (Sao Paulo, Brazil), "Sympathy For The Devil" (Sao Paulo, Brazil), "You Got The Silver" (Lima, Peru), "Midnight Rambler" (Lima, Peru) and "Miss You" (Lima, Peru). So while waiting for the new tour and the new album, we have another thing to look forward to!

March 27 - Keith talks about Chuck Berry

=> Recommended Read: Keith talks Chuck Berry! In the LA Times, Keith can give us some more details on the subject of his connection to Chuck Berry. Here, he goes more into the details, so this is a nice, recommended read: Keith Richards talks Chuck Berry: 'I've learned more and more from him over the years'

March 19 - RIP Chuck Berry

=> Sad day today. Chuck Berry died! Keith: "One of my big lights has gone out!" Chuck Berry passed away on Saturday (March 18) at the age of 90.
Mick: "I am so sad to hear of Chuck Berry's passing. I want to thank him for all the inspirational music he gave to us. He lit up our teenage years, and blew life into our dreams of being musicians and performers. His lyrics shone above others and threw a strange light on the American dream. Chuck, you were amazing, and your music is engraved inside us forever."
Ronnie: "With the passing of Chuck Berry comes the end of an era. He was one of the best and my inspiration, a true character indeed".
The whole band states: "The Rolling Stones are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck Berry. He was a true pioneer of rock ‘n’ roll and a massive influence on us. Chuck was not only a brilliant guitarist, singer and performer, but most importantly, he was a master craftsman as a songwriter. His songs will live forever." rollingstone.com / nytimes.com / billboard.com

RIP - Chuck Berry, March 18, 2017

March 14 - Keith in NYC

=> Just learned, that Keith was in NY these days, together with Don Was and trumpeter Keyon Harrold! Thanks to Christiano from IORR, I can show you the instagram picture of the three buddies. Keyon commented on March 12th: "I had the honor and pleasure of recording with these legends a couple days ago..." - so that session might have been somewhere during last week. Whether they recorded Stones stuff or anything else is left to our imagination. But I say: the music definitely rolled! :-)

March 13 - Tour delay??

=> Ouch! Rumours have it, that the next Rolling Stones Tour could be shifted into later this year, like, autumn or something. At least that would explain why there's almost no news coming up since weeks. If they don't tour in the summer, they also might choose indoor places like arenas as opposed to play stadiums in the summer. Wheather-wise, it's safer to play arenas, although ticket prices would be higher and venues would sell out much faster than stadiums. So, tickets would be more expensive and even harder to get. ... Sigh! We just don't know for sure yet.

March 2 - Release date for Ole Ole Ole!

=> Finally, we have a release date for the DVD of the SA tour docu "A Trip Across Latin America": May 12, 2017! Running time is 153m 30s, of which 1h 40m is the docu and 53m 23s is a bonus called "Live Tracks"! [thx 2 urbansteel, iorr] More details at bbfc.co.uk. I'm going to pre-order for sure! That movie is just great!!

February 28 - Mick @ the Oscars & the next album

=> The next Stones album will not be covers but new songs! That's what Mick said after beeing asked this crucial question. Roger Friedman, writing for showbiz411.com quotes him sying "I’m working on on new songs now.". Mick says the new album will be new. Next up is their 55th anniversary! What a band! :-)

Here are some pics of Mick, partying [thx Bye Bye Johnny, mitch [iorr]]

February 23 - Keith met Ivan Neville and Lisa Fisher in NYC

=> Keith went to see Ivan Neville's piano sessions in the Blue Note! He wrote (or let write) on Twitter: "Stopped by the Blue Note this week to catch a set of Ivan Neville's piano sessions. A mean set with bassist Tony Hill and drummer Raymond Weber. Killer rhythm section!!!". He also met Lisa Fisher there: "Visiting the Blue Note to see the ever exquisite @lisafischerlive!" Nice. So he's still rolling and enjoying life. C'mon, Keith, there's a new tour lurkin'! You do feel the itch, don't you!? ;-)

February 22 - The Stones: I'll go crazy

=> Foud this on the web, liked it, so I'll share it!. It's the Rolling Stones, paying tribute to James Brown in Werchter, Belgium, Tuesday June 5, 2007. Watch out for Lisa; she's truly a great singer!

February 18 - Tour News

=> The european tour is still in the making! Still, dates in several european countries such as France, Ireland, Austria, Norway, Germany, Spain, Netherlands and Bosnia-Herzegovina are in the rumoured list of possible dates for the gigs of The Rolling Stones tour 2017. As we are approaching March, things will clear up and you are going to read it here ASAP - promised! :-)

February 13 - Mick & Charles

=> Mick was in Paris last week! Maybe he still is... However, he met Charles Anavour there. "Séance de travail avec Mick Jagger" it reads, posted by @HAYprod, thx for the tip, ReginaPhalange [iorr].

February 6 - TOUR 2017: Austria seems a done deal!

=> Again, nothing official but close: June 3, Spielberg, Red Bull Ring (Racing Track), Austria! The source, oe24.at tells us, that an Spielberg-insider tells of an already signed contract for this date. The headlines tells about some "Abschied" i.e. farewell, but that's the usual tabloid crap since the late 60ies, hehehe ... So, at last, we're about to approch safer ground than just rumours. Great! More coming up for sure, soon!

February 3 - Tourdate-rumours: update

=> We're still in the negociating- or bidding-phase, but this comes to an end, soon. As for Vienna, there could be an alternative place. Dublin is still rumoured as well as Paris. Now, we also hear about Munich and a gig in Italy. Nijmwegen is still in the bids, and maybe the tour could wind up in the UK. Nothing is certain, though, yet. We'll get to know for sure soon...

February 2 - Stones at Croke Park, IE, this year?

=> According to the Irish Independent and the Irish Sun as well as the Irish Mirror, the Stones might be playing at the Dublin stadium this June. Nothing official though, of course. They last played there in 2007, so it would be a massive draw for this gig. As the stadium has a limit as to not more than three concerts per year and the other two are already confirmed for U2 and Coldplay, this decision sounds reasonable. So this is not officially confirmed, but likely! :-) If you stumble across sites who want to sell you tickets for this tour although nothing is officialy confirmed yet, just skip it!

January 28 - So the Stones were again #1 these days! Ain't that great?!

=> Here's a little reminder of the first BLUES #1 in England, "Little Red Rooster" by The Rolling Stones in 1965, originally written by Willi Dixon in 1961. See Brian in all his glory playing bottleneck and the Stones this time playing live at the Ed Sullivan Show. I'm so proud of 'em (and that's for a reason!) - WHAT-A-BAND!

January 26 - Outch! No Stones in Vienna

=> That's not so funny: there will be no Stones gig in Vienna tis year, as rumours told before. At least, it's official, now, so we're heading towards more reliable dates. As you can read at ORF.at Josef Schartner, the press officer of "Rock in Vienna", has denied that there have been negotiations with the band alltogether. The Greenticket.at site has meanwhile removed it's offer of Stones tickets for the said festival.

January 17 - Happy Birthday, Mick Taylor!

=> Guitar virtuoso Mick turns 68 today, if I'm not mistaken! Thanks a million, Mick, for all the groove and licks and bends and melody, fills, great rhythm and even greater lead you gave to all of us!!!

Here's 'Winter' from Goats Head Soup and Mick's solo from 2000 - thx kleermaker1000 for uploading this to YT!

January 13 - Don Was interview

=> You gotta listen to this! A very nice, detailed talk about recording with the Rolling Stones, the way Blue & Lonesome was produced and more ... Producer Don Was on the Rolling Stones’ Future: 'The Rock Cellar Conversations' [rockcellarmagazine.com]

January 12 - You guessed right!

=> I guess you guessed right - I had a few days off... :-) Yes - some days less computer, more books and healthy walks through the cold, clear air. But now, I'm back.

=> What can we expect for 2017? We can be sure to get a new album and an european tour this year. Below you see some of the rumoured venues - there will be more. However, nothing more has surfaced since last month. The Stones are on holidays, too, but things will come to life back again soon. You'll get notice as soon as I hear about anything interesting. But I won't quote all rumours that fly around as most of them simply too far fetched. That won't happen to anything interesting, though, promised!

BTW - I very much thank you all for keep visiting my little Stones-site here through all the years! I'm really honored and very thankful to you and I hope, you'll keep coming back! :-)
Here's a little spanish, SA "Thank You" for you folks, but only for a short while... enjoy! (right-click & save-as ...)

=> Ok, to start things up a little, have a nice, hilarious little read with this litte text here, called: "Keith Richards kept on shooting me"- wonderful! [thx Dough, Argus, sdb]

December 30 - Rumors become more concrete

=> Good news as the year winds down: Vienna/Austria is not officially confirmed, but almost! Austrian tabloid "Heute" knows, that there are 2 dates which may get set for 2 shows in Vienna: June 3 & 4. They also name three more dates for Paris (June 24), Oslo (July 1) and somewhere in the Netherlands on July 14. Here's article (german) ... more to come soon, I guess! ^^

December 17 - Tour rumors!

=> Tour rumours keep on rumbling. So far, there are 5 cities in the game with possible dates for June and July 2017: Oslo, Barcelona, Vienna, Nijmegen and Paris!

December 15 - Tour 2017!

=> Nothing official, but as we can see from "The Rolling Stones are planning a new world tour" (msn.com), the planing and negociating is still going on behind the curtans. Wether it's gonna be a world tour or only an european tour is still unknown. I would expect an european tour and the dates maybe next June and July (thx BV, iorr) ...

December 11 - Nice finds

=> Well, some of you may know 'em already, but I just feel lucky to see & hear them: really nicely done interviews! Keith:

About Ronnie: not only is he 7 years sober now, but because of his twin daughters, he's also got the power to quit smoking. Man, I really admire that. Keep it on, Ronnie! My deepest respekt!

December 10 - Stones are #1 !!

=> Wonderful! They did it again for the 12th time, Blue&Lonesome hits #1 in the UK and other countries like Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Holland, Australia, Norway and of course Argentina! December 9 - Happy 8th birthday, Mick! :-)

=> Mick is father again! Congratulations to his new born son and mother Melanie! See reports on this by latimes.com | dailymail.co.uk | billboard.com

=> Nice read: about Exhibitionism NYC and curator Ileen Gallagher: Re-creating Rolling Stones History - For the show "Exhibitionism", a curator brought together the band's artifacts and reconstructed the rooms where the Stones worked and lived.

December 7 - Stones are #1 / Interviews, new album & tour

=> I almost thought it would never happen again, but here it is: According to Billboard, Rolling Stones 'Blue & Lonesome' Bolting to U.K. No. 1 (billboard.com) or Rolling Stones set to top charts with album recorded in three days (belfasttelegraph.co.uk) or The Rolling Stones' Blue & Lonesome is charging towards this week's Official Albums Chart Number 1 (officialcharts.com) ... now that's NICE!!! :-)

=> Kristen Stewart makes the scene, too. Straight from the new Rolling Stones video for Ride 'Em On Down (see below), she's "No shoes, no bra, no f*cks" (marieclaire.com)

December 4 - Interviews, new album & tour

=> We can me asured about a new album next year and a tour! According to contactmusic.net, the Stones are in the planning for a tour next year: 'A source told The Sun: 'Mick will never lose that bug for performing. Next year is going to be a big one, but not just because fatherhood is looming once again. He's keen to go back on the road and play in huge stadiums, and some have already been secretly booked out in preparation for a possible show.''

=> Japanese agency TBS newseye has also interviewed all 4 Stones, but longer or less cut. So here are Mick (9:27), Keith (14:44), Charlie (11:56), and Ronnie (13:32)

December 3 - B&L

=> I can't help it. I love this band! Listening to the songs from B&L, I'm almost in tears. What a band! Are we fans LUCKY of what, for Chrissakes? "Unrepressed Rythm 'N' Blues with the unmitigating, ebulient, perturbing Rollin' Stones!". Period. 'nuf said. Let it roll! What a band ... (btw: why only 12 songs? Let the next 12-sets coming loosely as they happen, how 'bout that, Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ronnie?)

December 2 - Yes indeed! Here we are!

=> Keith interview: "We are theatre and reality at the same time" (theguardian.com) - long, interesting read!

July 20, 2011 (and for eternity) - The Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers And The Lost Photo Session

Ok, this comes a bit late. But since there are no more news about the possible gigs for Hide Park or anything like a tour in 2012 right now, I thought we could use the occasion and look back over yonder...

Recently, a treasure of photographs were discoverd after photographer Peter Webb's negatives went missing after shooting the Stones for that monster record "Sticky Fingers". Then, out of nowhere, they are re-discovered after a gap of almost 40 years. Let's have a look... oh man, have a look at Keith's eyes ...
