Oh well, even judging from the two songs we could enjoy from yesterdays show – TD  and YCAGWYW – we can say that this was another really good show of the Stones on this tour.

Ok, tonight, we will look at the Ernst Happel Stadium and hope for some nice live streams.

One thing we can expect is, that while the Stones are playing in Vienna, they will use local opportunities. As for this time, we maybe have the opportunity to enjoy a real choir during YCAGWYW. It’s what they did on the tour before. If this becomes true, I definitely will enjoy this very much.

ARTE TV is showing A BIGGER BANG just now! The french channel too!

Austrian TV station ORF1 is going to show some highlights of tonight’s show at 11:20 pm, right after the women’s soccer game Austria : Norway (check for geoblocking)

The expressandstar.com tells us, that the choir for the gig tonight actually came from Ukraine:

The Rolling Stones have invited a boys and girls choir from Ukraine to perform with them onstage in Vienna as part of their Sixty tour.
The Dzvinochok boys choir and Vognyk girls choir group, alongside their choirmaster Ruben Tolmachov, managed to travel from Kyiv by road to the Ernst Happel Stadium where they will perform in front of an audience of 56,000.
Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood – joined by Steve Jordan on drums – will perform anthem You Can’t Always Get What You Want with 14 members from the two choirs onstage in Vienna on Friday.

This is the day before the show and the anticipation grows …

Until now, the Stones have given very well reviewed concerts during this tour – so why not expect the same for Vienna tomorrow?

Whereas yesterday, Mick strolled around in the city and dined in a posh restaurant (see below), Keith and Ronnie seem to have kept a low profile.

But tomorrow, the band will leave the hotel early afternoon and head for the soundcheck at the Ernst Happel Stadium. Now, folks: is anybody of you at that place and time tomorrow to give us news about the songs they play during the soundcheck? That would be really cool!
So don’t hesitate to mail or comment!!

What did Mick do? oe24.at has the answer:

On Wednesday evening, Mick Jagger was the guest of star chef Konstantin Filippou. He escaped the waiting fans in front of the hotel through the side exit. Fans and paparazzi are already on the hunt for a snap of Mick Jagger – but it’s no easy feat. Because Jagger has strict rules despite corona recovery: no selfies, no autographs. He made an exception for star chef Konstantin Filippou, in whose posh restaurant the Stones frontman was a guest on Wednesday evening. However, the waiting fans in front of the Hotel Imperial were disappointed: Jagger escaped through a side exit of the hotel and drove into the restaurant in another car. He left his Mercedes S-Class in front of the Imperial.

Already 2 days ago, but maybe of interest:

The Rolling Stones have arrived in Vienna today at 6 PM.

Dietmar of weltenklang.at sent in some lines about this, plus a really interesting link to an interview with Chuck (see below).

Mick is supposed to take a stroll around town – beautiful Vienna has lots of places suitable for Mick to visit. For example, some restaurants like Schwarzes Kameel, Schweizerhaus or Loos-Bar could be on his list… or this is just a way to send paparazzi into the wrong direction, we don’t know…

Austrian radio station ORF Ö3 has issued an interview with Chuck Leavell today that has been recorded when the Stones just reached Milano. And it’s in particular interesting, because Chuck tells quite some details about the tour, Mick’s desease and how the band feels with this tour. Thank god they didn’t translate the interview but left it in the English original. So lean back, push the start-button, skip the first 1:20 of german intro if you like and enjoy!

Whereas yesterday’s show was unsatisafctory if you were one of thoese (us), who were waiting for streams to take part in the gig, the overall impression of those who were lucky to have been at the show, stated that this has been a marvellous show.

The Rolling Stones delivered at Amsterdam!

I can tell because even from following the streams, I had the impression, that this was another great show of this tour by the band.

But, you know, listening to online streams and being there are two very different things! So I’m really happy, that Erwin sent in some lines of his experience of this gig. See the lines below.

But that’s not all: Erwin is the author ot a VERY cool Stones book, that everyone interested in this band should check out! It’s called “Tourbook ’72” and it’s only focus is … you guessed it … “The Rolling Stones STP Tour 1972 – A Blueprint from the Greatest Tour Ever” – 326 pages, 1.5 kg weight: a must-have I say, even before reading it, just by looking at it and flipping through the pages. More on this later…

Now here for the review, Erwin sent:

I was at the show with my wife and 3 kids and future son in law.
We were on the field in the cheap section but front row from that area.
We had a real good time. Jagger was absolutely phenomenal. The guitar boys have had better days but sounded as they should: loud and mean.
It was great to hear SV and CYHMK. I was absolutely thrilled that in the mid section of MR they suddenly played a snippet from “Hellhound on my trail”. Believe this is from Robert Johnson.
Don’t know if they do that all the time on this tour?? For me it was the first time to hear this. The warhorses made me glad and happy.
The encores gave me a kind of a sad feeling. Sad that this was probably the last time.
Great that they still are able to bring 50,000 in a wonderful mood.
