Ivy Club Aftermath

Ronnie, Ivy Club, London 2023 - photo by Hendric Mulder facebook

So Ronnie played that gig at the Ivy Club, London.

Now, quite some videos have surfaced. It’s like a little appetizer for the upcoming tour, folks. And the best is: Ronnie is in fine shape, he definitely is ready for the stage!

Below, you’ll find what I found so far, in no particular order. It’s just a loose playing and jamming. Ben Waters had just flown in from Australia, and his son played the sax. Ben played some songs as opening numbers. With Ronnie, among the songy played were Wee Wee Hours, Simply the Best, Proud Mary, River Deep, Mountain High, Rock ‘N’ Roll Music, Rock Me Baby, Chain of Fools, Johnny B. Goode (startet with I Can Feel The Fire and then transformed into the Berry classic), Every Night About This Time, Remember, Walking In The Sand. Ronnie played for some 2 and a half hours… Quite impressive!
Go, go, go, Ronnie, Go!

Ronnie at the Ivy

ASPIRE fundraising, Anne + Sally, Ivy Club, London, March 2023

Sally Wood and Anne Heath had invited guests to a charity event at the Ivy Club, London, last Friday.

Charity goes to “Aspire” – Aspire provides practical help to people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury, supporting them from injury to independence.
You can donate here!

Ronnie was there, Ben Waters, Imelda May, Chanel Hayness and others came and of course played, too. Check out the pictures at Instagram: Patricia Right and  Florian Reith – below are just 4 samples.

Then, we hear, that the new album is finished and that Mick had twisted his ankle, which caused the delay for the tour, which is going to start this autumn… but, mind you, that’s just rumors!

Mick seen at football game

Mick's own harp line

Yesterday, Mick and two of his youngest children, son Deveraux, six, and Lucas, 22, were seen at the Fulham against Arsenal football game.

What generally raised eyebrows was the cap reading DILF, that he wore. My guess is, that this was Lucas idea of a joke and Mick accepted. But we won’t know for sure how this came about.

Here’s the press with more of this and some pics, too: The Sun, Express, The Scottisch Sun

Meanwhile, ultimateclassicrock.com reports, that The Stones are sued by some songwriter Sergio Garcia aka Angelslang over their 2020 song “Living In A Ghost Town“… the german Rolling Stone, too, has this story.

New lyric video released

A Bigger Bang

New lyric video release: Rain Fall Down

The Rolling Stones last studio album, as we all know, was A Bigger Bang.  That was released in 2005 … a whooping 18 years ago. Did I say I liked it? Oh yes, I did. And I still do. Some of the songs stood out, like Laugh I Nearly Died compared to the blues orientated Back Of My Hand. For the groovy, dancable section, there was Rain Fall Down.

And this was just released anew as a lyric video with English and Spanish language. Nice to hear and see that again! Enjoy:

Stones at ‘Lviv Aid’

Stones 2023

Are The Rolling Stones playing at a Live Aid-style concert this summer in support of Ukraine?

Quite a few sources tell of plans for such an event where The Rolling Stones, U2, The Killers and Pink have been asked to perform. Stars like Paul McCartney and Adele are also likely to be approached. Thing is, though, for one we don’t have any official confirmation and two – the date apparently would be June 24 and thus would collide with Glastonbury… but that ‘date has now been nailed down and booked at Wembley stadium‘.

Some sources for this: The Sun / Mail Online / musictimes.com / express.co.uk / msn.com / mirror.co.uk and lots more…

Meanwhile, Keith gratulates his mate Peter Wolf (JGeilsBand):
