Keith interview – never seen before – restored

Keith interview – never seen before – restored

Sometimes we are lucky and another gem is discovered – this is one of them!

That just popped up from my searchlist at YouTube – an interview with Keith from 1988. Full Title: “Keith Richards – The Interview You’ve Never Seen Before – Restored From 1988”.

Directed by danish reporter Karsten Kjær in Eleva2ren.dk, here is what he tells us about this:

I interviewed Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones in London – about being the greatest rock’n roll band in the World – on some nights… but not all nights. 🙂 In 1988 Keith launched a solo album and toured for a short period with his own band “The X-Pensive Winos”, before returning to Mick Jagger and the other Rolling Stones. I produced this interview for Denmarks most popular friday night TV-show Eleva2ren. Keith Richard signs off sending his regards to the studio audience of Eleva2ren.

When I met Keith, he had been out the night before – but playing chess with his father… Walking back in the streets of London, he was spotted by a police patrol, who thought he looked like a hobo, but realized he was Keith from the Stones and offered him a lift home.

EU Tour: Date for Munich? Show in Berlin?

EU Tour: Date for Munich? Show in Berlin?

The rumours more and more are developing towards more concrete detils, it seems!

This just came in from german tabloid TZ or from the Merkur newspaper: for now, there could be two shows in Germany next year: Munich and Berlin!

Here’s the translation from the most important lines of article:

Munich – There were rumors, of course. When the most famous band in the world planned their current North American tour, millions of fans hoped that the Rolling Stones would definitely add a trip to Europe. Now we have the good news: the rumors are consolidating into a date. As our newspaper knows from a well-informed source, the biggest rock band in the world will play two shows in Germany next year: in Berlin and in Munich. Mick, Keith and Co. are expected to perform at the Olympic Stadium on July 12th. Something is rolling our way!

Some more latest on EU Tour 2025

Still no official news but…

By now, we can call the Hackney Diamonds Tour of Europe as a done deal. We hear, that all negociations and contracts are approching their finishing status.

On the base of this, it could well be that we can expect the official tour announcement around the middle of next month, i.e. December. The Hackney Diamonds tour this year was streched to 20 gigs. So we can expect a similiar amount of shows for the European tour next year. A somewhat less number of shows will be annouced officially, leaving us with the hope of later additions as this has usually happend before.

I’ll kee you posted! Thanks to all of you for your support!

2025 Tour announcement

2025 Tour announcement

And up comes the next one – we’re getting closer!

Those rumours about the Hackney Diamonds tour of Europe in 2025 are already looking back on weeks and months of developement. Right now, it seems, we’re getting  a lot closer towards an official announcement and the heat is building up!

After Ronnie’s statement, british tabloid The SUN adds some considerable punch to the momentum. Bizarre Editor Ellie Henman comes up with the headline “ROCK ON Huge rock band line up major 2025 UK stadium tour after wowing America with sold out shows“.

Ellie relies on ‘her insider’ and comes up with this essential informations: After the great success of their US tour, the band wants to continue this experience with a tour of european states next year: “Mick, Keith and Ronnie have now signed off on the shows which will take place across stadiums next year. The announcement will be coming in the next few weeks.

Basically, I think, this means that we can expect to get an official announcement before this year comes to an end! Really great news indeed!

Ronnie confirms

Ronnie confirms

Didn’t we knew it? This is Ronnie-Leaks, so to speak, hehehe …

Although: it’s not really THAT new news, folks. Even Mick himself has mentioned a further tour for next year, right?

Nonetheless, here we have an interview with Ronnie with a focus on his painting, colors and influences – nice! Just because, it is nice to hear interviews without asking the same old questions over and over again. So here we hear Ronnie talking about one of his favourite interest which has a considerable intersection with music. And we hear him saying, that the band is hoping for a tour of Europe next year and that he was in the studio with the Faces last week, too…

Check out this page of BBC Sounds for the audio of this interview – Ronnie’s part makes the start at 1:22 until 15:30, with the crucial ‘tour-words’ coming in at 14:40 – 15:15.

Stones to visit the ‘eternal City’

Stones to visit the ‘eternal City’

Good news coming up, folks! Italian press reports point towards a gig in Rome!

Lots of press sites come up with almost the same text, where the date for Rome for the upcoming Hackney Diamonds Europe Tour 2025 is given as “end of May 2025”. Then, the possible date for an official announcement is mentioned: end of January 2025! That’s good news, innit?

livestyle.everyeye.it | quotidiano.net | rockol.it | ondarock.it | sentireascoltare.com | and there are more …

Here, you have the text translated (Google) from one of these italian sources. They even mention this site here, although with bad spelling… LOL!

The Rolling Stones in Rome: the concert at the end of May 2025 at the Stadio Olimpico
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood return to the capital after 11 years as part of the Hackney Diamonds Tour

Rome, November 13, 2024 – It seems that the official announcement will arrive only between the end of January and the beginning of February, but the European leg of the Rolling Stones’ Hackney Diamonds Tour is practically a done deal, as is the only Italian stop at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, scheduled for the last week of May to kick off the long summer of rock in the capital.

After months of rumors, in fact, even the site stonenews.com, very close to the band, explicitly speaks of a ‘Europe-Tour 2025’. Speaking of the offers on the table, Mick Jagger said in the summer: “We will evaluate the proposals and go wherever it will be more fun, it could be Europe, South America, anywhere”. Well, it will be Europe for twenty nights or so between May and July. The choice of the yellow-red and white-blue stands would be due to the eminently stadium-like nature of the tour that brings Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood, 218 years old between the three of them, back to the capital eleven years after the glorious stop at the Circo Massimo of 14 On Fire and eighteen after the (less fortunate) one at the same Olimpico of the Bigger Bang Tour.

Having started on April 28th from the NRG Stadium in Houston to surf the wave fueled by the release of the twenty-fourth studio album by the English band ‘Hackney Diamonds’, the loud-mouthed caravan returns to our country after the celebratory show of their sixtieth anniversary which also landed at San Siro in July 2022. Given the location in calendar, Ron Wood will turn 78 just a few days after the show in the capital, while Sir Mick will be 82 in July, but they don’t seem to have the slightest desire to hang up their guitar.

Some Hot Stuff

Some Hot Stuff

Some of the things rushing by keep nagging me like why not share this with you fan-friends?

So here we go: a mix of things I noticed during the last week or something…

1) Nice story in rollingstone.com from 1975: “The Rolling Stones’ 1975 Tour: Baptized in Baton Rouge, Castrated in San Antone – World’s greatest performing band bewilders the south” by Chet Flippo, July 17, 1975

RS - TotA 75A real fun read!

2) Genesis Publications have issued the headline “Last 200 Commander Copies Now Available!”

They tell us: “We are excited to announce the final Commander copies of T.O.T.A ’75 are now available to order, in celebration of the 50 years since the iconic tour. … In his role as the tour’s official diarist, no area was off-limit for Christopher Simon Sykes. The result is a massive and absorbing 27,000-word narrative accompanying his hundreds of photographs. … Signed by the Stones photographer and diarist Christopher Sykes and tour manager Peter ‘the Commander’ Rudge, these final copies feature a special leather quarter binding with duotone images of the band screen-printed on the front and back covers.

Last 200 Commander copies are now available. Shipping in March 2025.  £345 Check out 200 Commander Copies and the T.O.T.A ’75 page.

3) Box Set and Reissue Deals for November 2024  – in mono! € 169.-

Superb deal for the coloured vinyl repress of The Rolling Stones in Mono. You can watch the SDE unboxing we did at the time. The Rolling Stones in Mono is a 16LP repress of the 2016 box set, although this time each record is pressed on COLOURED vinyl.

Best Rock Album!

It was known since quite some time, and now it’s officially announced:

  • Romance, Fontaines D.C.
  • Saviors, Green Day
  • TANGK, IDLES
  • Dark Matter, Pearl Jam
  • Hackney Diamonds, The Rolling Stones

Another wonderful ‘Making of…’

Another wonderful ‘Making of…’

Hi there folks and fans of the Rolling Stones! Lots of stories and details about this band and their music to me is the second most beloved thing after enjoying the music itself.

So I really enjoy well done documentaries with interviews of the band, friends, children, managers, producers, lawers and so on. Of course, all those documentaries published by the band itself is the basis of a huge pile of releases in this genre.

We are fortunate that there is also a large amount of serious work on the history of the Rolling Stones, produced by dedicated people and fans, some of which provide an incredibly detailed account of the events of the time. One of the best examples of this is the work of FlipSideCT!

So after already introducing “The Making of The Rolling Stones Let It Bleed Documentary” and “The Making of Beggars Banquet” here to you, let’s enjoy and open another of this treasure chests with

Make no mistake – this work of his is huge as well as non profit, so if you dig this, drop him some dimes via PayPal…

Revisiting HD – in conversation with Jimmy Fallon

There’s nothing more in this than just for the fun of it:

Let’s just jump back a little and remember that exciting moment, when we got to see Mick, Keith an Ronnie live from London with host Jimmy Fallon and introducing their 24th studio album. And they were so lively and witty and all were obviously fit, it was just great.

So here we are again and let’s hope, we soon get more news about a new tour to enjoy!
