=> November 22 - finally - the glimmer twins made it to psychology today!

Yup, we all waited for this so very, very long. Finally the wait is over: psychology today has issued an article about Mick and Keith. Sadly, that analysis is a bit short, but that doesn't really matter. The conclusion is this:

"So Keith and Mick are actually models for a long-term relationship. Nothing lasts forever -- and, anyway, Keith says he still loves Mick."

=> November 20 - uncut magazine: Stones special issue

Of cause, most of you know Uncut, the music mag from UK. These days, Uncut has published an issue devoted to the Stones and their music.

Entitled "The Ultimate Music Guide: The Rolling Stones," that issue is due since November 17, 2010. It has 148 pages and promises to contain rare interviews, pics and of cause comments on the complete catalogue. Ronnie contributed some lines for the introduction.

=> We know about THE LOST ROLLING STONES PHOTOGRAPHS: The Bob Bonis Archive, 1964-1966; now here's just one of 13 teasers (vanityfair.com) - awesome:

On August 5, 1964, the Rolling Stones performed three songs for a segment filmed at the London Palladium for the U.S. television show The Red Skelton Hour. It aired on September 22, but the Stones were not in the United States at the time and therefore were unable to see the show. It was rebroadcast on November 10, when the Stones were in the midst of their second U.S. tour, and Mick watched the show in his hotel room. He feigned sleeping when he appeared on-screen.

Rush reprises his role as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa, and McNally returns as Captain Jack's longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs. Claflin stars as a stalwart missionary, while Berges-Frisbey is transformed into a mysterious mermaid.

Yahoo! Movies is set to premiere the trailer for Walt Disney Pictures' "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" on December 13, 2010, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time/1 p.m. Pacific Time.

=> November 15 - Keith insists: tour in 2011

In an interview with german newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau, he again fuels hopes for next year despite the denial of concrete tourplans of the management. In my translation, he says:

"We are looking forward to next June - we'll be going on tour together again." (Here's the original german: "Wir freuen uns auf den kommenden Juni, dann gehen wir wieder gemeinsam auf Tour.")

You'll find the soundtrack of the point during the interview, when Keith realises that Larson was the one who wrote the bad review of Goteburgh 2007 and that the same person was just interviewing him at the Schulmann Show (aftonbladed.se). Check it out at 9:00 minutes into the show until about 12:00...

Also: what we can hear there fails to validate any claim of Keith hitting Larsson in any way. Although that might have been deserved or something, hehehe ...

=> November 11 - Many Lost photgraphs, One classic-rock-Award and Keith kicks reporter's head ...

=> Keith has allegedly lashed out at a Swedish journalist critical of his work by smacking him in the head.

He was interviewd by Markus Larsson, who had rated their last gig in Sweden in 2007 as 'amateurish', giving it two out of five.

After Keith had catted for about 10 minutes with Larsson at a Parisian hotel on November 9th, he realised who he was talking to. Larsson says:

"His eyes got black and he was absolutely furious. He stood up and asked if we would put out the lights and settle the disagreement straight away.
"At first I was just surprised, I thought he was pulling my leg (joking), but then I realised he was serious and then I felt uncomfortable and I just wanted to get out of there pretty fast"

[You know folks, I can easily imagine this, hehehe ...]

The meeting ended with the rock star threatening Markus Larsson and hitting him in the head, Swedish publication 'Aftonbladets' reported.

Richards apparently said "You're lucky to get out of here alive" before storming out.

Meanwhile, officials have denied that any violance had occurred. And Keith himself replied the allegations on an open letter to Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
The letter read in part:

"Never before have I risen to the bait of a bad review. But this time ... I have to stand up ... for our fans all over Sweden ... to say that you owe them, and us, an apology.

"There were 56,000 people in Ullevi stadium who bought a ticket to our concert — and experienced a completely different show than the one you 'reviewed.’ How dare you cheapen the experience for them — and for the hundreds of thousands of other people across Sweden who weren't at Ullevi and have only your 'review' to go on. Write the truth. It was a good show."

Larsson responded to Richards by saying:

"I am not going to apologize for my subjective opinion. It is Keith who should apologize. After all it costs around $145 to see a rock star who can hardly handle the riff to 'Brown Sugar' any more."

=> Stones receive Classic Rock Award

The Rolling Stones took a share of the spoils at the 6th Marshall Classic Rock of Honour Awards. Accepting for the Stones, Ronnie Wood turned up to receive best album reissue for "Exile On Main Street,” which hit the top of the charts upon its re-release this year in the U.K., although he had not been a stone when that album was created.

However Woody insisted he was qualified to accept the prize because of his intimate relationship with the songs, declaring from the stage: "I have played these songs for the last 30 years and it's about time that I collected! So thanks a lot!"

Other big winners included AC/DC for band of the year, Slash for album of the year, and Journey for event of the year.

Official spokesman says, that there are NO plans for Rolling Stones tour!
Despite Keith Richards telling BBC 6Music that 'everybody's ready to go', the Rolling Stones press spokesman says there are no concrete plans in place to tour or release a new album. So it's denied that the band is due to tour in 2011:

"There are no concrete plans for the Rolling Stones to tour. The same applies to rumours that they are going into the studio soon to record a new album."

But wait a minute. We've seen this before. There are no concrete plans for a new tour - right! The whole business mill is just starting. It follows: there are no official concrete plans. But there will be a tour and there will almost certainly be a new album or you can call me nuts!

The Rolling Stones plan to hit the road in 2011, despite rumours that they had retired from touring altogether.

"Everybody's ready to go out there again," guitarist Keith Richards told BBC 6 Music. "Who said it should stop, and who said when?"
"Only we will know when it comes to an end, with a crashing halt," he added. The Stones' last world tour earned $558m (£344m), but was reported to be the band's last after several dates were postponed due to ill health. The European leg of the Bigger Bang tour was delayed in 2006 when Richards had brain surgery, following a widely-reported fall from a coconut tree. He later said the incident had been exaggerated, telling the NME: "I was sitting on a shrub [and] I happened to fall off it the wrong way".

Speaking at the launch of his new autobiography, Life, the 66-year-old told 6 Music News the Stones were also gearing up to record new material.
"After these many years working together, we have a lot of unfinished stuff to work on that we had to leave off the last album.
"And knowing Mick, as I do, he's a very prolific writer. I have ideas [too] and we'll put them together in December or January.
"We're looking forward to working."

Keith has presented his autobiography in New Yorks Public Library on October 29. There is a nice report from of Rolling Stone about the event:

Even though Richards declined to even have a guitar placed onstage, the buzz leading up to the show practically rivaled a Stones gig. It sold out in 42 seconds. There was a film crew in attendance, along with the familiar faces in the Stones world; their security detail, promoter Michael Cohl and plenty of famous fans like Lou Reed and Steve Van Zandt.

His bio is very well received and Louis Vuitton even celebrates his book by making it available on it's website and at key stores in the US. The New York Post as well as spinner.com also have reports about this event.

New album & tour: According to some of our friends who were at the NYPL event, "Keith said that he is continually pushing the Stones to do things, and that we can expect to see something next year (the way he said it, it implied studio work and live performances)." (thanks to jbirenz!)
You see, it has gooten to the point where a "No albums, no tours!" would be the real surprise. Even the Guardian tries to prepare us for the beautiful things to come: "Gigs to look out for in 2011"

=> October 29 - Tour summit in December, Live Nation Entertainment stocks on the rise ...

As reported earlier, the Stones will have a summit in December to discuss future plans. This would concern a possible new album and tour. We also hear more and more hints towards this issue from Mick, Charlie and Keith. Ronnie is sober and ready. According to non-official sources, the Stones also will discuss a large deal they have been offered by Live Nation Entertainment. This also was a subject when rumours of bookings of swedish stadiums surfaced some weeks before.

With this in mind, it one would expect stocks to rise a litte. And indeed, it seems so:

Shares of Live Nation (NYSE:LYV) traded 2.1% higher yesterday, closing at $9.75. The stock has been drifting higher over the past nine trading days and is currently trading in a technical uptrend. The call volume yesterday was 5,923 contracts, which is 4x the average daily volume of 1,467. Usually high call volume is an indicator that many investors are looking for higher prices in the near future.

Go figure ...

From the moment Ronnie Wood stepped on stage for the second show in one night, he owned it. The venue- The Ambassadors Theatre, London- was the perfect size and setting for this member of Rock ‘n Roll royalty to showcase his first album of brand new solo songs in over a decade. The usual home of hit show Stomp had been hijacked by a Rolling Stone.

=> October 27 - Keith confirms tour plans! More arenas than stadiums?

Well, folks, the web is abuzz with Keith's bio and everywhere you find interviews. To list them all would be almost impossible and also boring. One particular sequence, though, caught my eye and I'm really happy to share it with you.

In the upcoming issue of the german mag "Stern", he said the following (my translation):

"We're itching, we're want to do something. Not nescessarily the big stadiums, more like smaller arenas in towns and maybe for several days until they kick us out."

I say WOAH! That's about as optimal as it could get. Most of us fans would welcome this setting compared to the stadium gigs. I cast a small doubt on Keith's perspective, as far as financial issues are concerned.

On the other side, I have to admit that I don't know how a Stones tour with more dates in arenas than staduims is financially viable and how high ticket prices would have to rise to guarantee this. Ouch. But nevertheless: we have no choice, I'm afraid, hehehe ...

=> October 25 - LIfe: a bestseller!

It goes without saying that Keith Richards’ memoir "Life" is a bestseller even before its official release on October, 26, 2010. The Rolling Stones guitar legend reportedly received $7 million to write his autobiography. Advance orders for the book have been impressive, although exact number of books that have been purchased in advance have not been released since most book sellers are privately owned companies that do not publicly divulge how many pre-order sales that a book has gotten.

Carla Hey from Examiner published some of the sales rankings, dating from October 24, 2010 — two days before the book’s release date - so these rates may have changed already.

I used up my nine lives long ago, but here I am. I’m still playing. I’m still rocking and still rolling and I survived to tell this tale. And I hope you enjoy it."

=> October 24 - the Acid king, Woody on late late

No book about Stones history ignores that famous story from the famous drug bust in Redlands 1967. Keith always assumed a connection to the establishment, police and MI5. Now, it seems, he was right. Here's a small citation from the dailymail:

And one of the 1967 episode’s unexplained mysteries was the identity of the man blamed by Richards and Mick Jagger for setting them up, a young drug dealer known as the Acid King. He was a guest at the party – and supplied the drugs – but vanished after the raid, never to be seen or heard of again. Jagger and Richards were arrested and jailed for possession of cannabis and amphetamines, though later acquitted on appeal. Richards claimed last week in his autobiography, Life, that the Acid King was a police informant called David Sniderman.

The truth appears to confirm Richards’s long-held belief that the band was targeted by an Establishment fearful of its influence over the nation’s youth. The Mail on Sunday can reveal that Sniderman was a Toronto-born failed actor who told his family and friends he was recruited by British and American intelligence as part of a plot to discredit the group. After the Redlands bust, he slipped out of Britain and moved to the States where he changed his name to David Jove, and lived in Hollywood, later working as a small-time producer and film-maker.

Hi there folks! Thanks to Dave C., we hear that Ronnie is rumoured to appear on Ireland's Late Late Show tonight: 22 October, 930pm GMT
Ok here we are: Rolling Stone joins Tubridy on Late Late (rte.ie) - Ronnie Wood will join Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show tonight to talk about his life and to perform live.

Ronnie Wood and Mick Taylor are among stars lining up to perform at a gig aimed at saving a historic West End venue. The 100 Club in Oxford Street, established in the 1940s, has hosted music legends including Louis Armstrong, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Kinks and The Sex Pistols. It is said every generation associates it with a different genre of music, but the venue, now surrounded by chain retail stores, is  currently under threat of closure. Owner Jeff Horton has said soaring rents and business rates, as well as rising VAT and alcohol duty, are to blame for the £100,000 yearly loss the club has racked up over the past three years. Organisers hope the high profile event, entitled Guitar Heroes Unite, will raise both funds and publicity for the campaign to save it. It’s feared that, failing a 11th-hour intervention from a sponsor, the venue will roll down its shutters for the last time this Christmas.
The line-up will be headlined by Californian New Blues guitarist Stephen Dale Petit, who is promising to attract a number of additional rock stars, the identity of whom organisers are yet to reveal.

Keith will sign copies of his autobiography "Life" at an event in London on November 3, it has been confirmed. He will visit Waterstone’s flagship branch in Piccadilly to sign a limited number of copies of the memoir.

Waterstone's non-fiction buyer Joe Browes said: "There are rock bands, and there are The Rolling Stones. There are guitarists, and there is Keith Richards. There are great rock and roll memoirs, and there is Life.
"This is the rock book that everyone who has ever loved rock and roll has been waiting for.
"This is the coolest book of the year, no contest."

The first 450 people to queue outside the store will receive a wristband. All will be guaranteed the opportunity to purchase a pre-signed copy of the book, though time restrictions mean that not all will get the chance to meet Richards in person.

The Scream gallery in London is run by Ronnie's sons Jamie and Tyrone and Ronnie, 63, is said to be trying to save the gallery after the loss. A source said to UK tabloid The Sun: 'This is no surprise in the current art climate. Ronnie remains optimistic, especially as he plans new directions.'

Ronnie, who has developed a new passion for art, recently played a gig at the Ambassador Theatre in London where he performed tracks from his new album I Feel Like Playing.

The solution, for this, folks, is quite simple: Ronnie needs a new tour! SOOON ! ;-)

Yesterday, Ronnie played a pair of intimate shows at the Ambassador Theatre in London yesterday evening to showcase tracks from his latest solo album 'I Feel Like Playing' and after coming off stage he revealed he almost passed out midway through. He exclusively told BANG Showbiz:

"My legs! I nearly fainted, honestly, during the fourth song, because you don't breathe, and you're thinking of the chords and the words, and singing ... I felt, Phew!
"I did it before, once, on radio, I was singing and all of a sudden I was thinking, 'I'm gonna f***ing die!' and so I had to breathe and felt like I was going to keel over.
"It was like that there for a little bit, but then, I thought, 'Breathe, you'll come out of it.' It's a hell of a thing. Even though it's such a small theatre, it doesn't matter, it could have been a stadium or anything."

Between the fourth and fifth songs, Ronnie looked visibly out of breathe and took a minute to regain his composure before the next song, uttering a few expletives to the crowd.

Anyway, his performance was on and joyful. Here you'll get a taste of it:

Ronnie was introduced by 'Sex and the City' actor Chris Noth and was backed by a band including his son Jesse James Wood. The set saw Ronnie joined by several special guests, including Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones and soul singers Beverley Knight and Mica Paris; while former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan looked on from the crowd and Ronnie's girlfriend Ana Araujo. A number of songs were accompanied by improvised instruments made from everyday items played by the cast of musical 'Stomp'.
Despite losing his breath, Ronnie insisted he'd had a great time at the show. He said:

"But just being on stage again, my fingers are throbbing like Popyeye! It's great doing my own show, its' like doing a painting, it's like, 'This is mine.'
"I just played more or less a whole set of never heard before songs. I was honoured that the crowd liked it."

Keith has said he is “ready” to get back together with the Rolling Stones. The guitarist said the band, who have been on hiatus since their Bigger Bang tour ended in 2007, were discussing a possible new album and tour.

“We're whispering — I wouldn't say talking,” Richards told Rolling Stone. “I'm getting hints. And I'm always ready.
“Mick and I spoke about a month ago in New York. It's at that mumbling stage. But I had some outtakes from the last sessions we did [for 'A Bigger Bang'] and said, 'Just to jog your memory...'
“So there's interaction. You don't want to push it too hard.”

Richards added that he was often the catalsyst for a reunion because “they know I will say yes”. [gigwise.com]

Rolling Stone took the occasion of Keith's bio, Life, for an article and interview plus a cover with his portrait for the upcoming October 28, 2010 issue of Rolling Stone. This issue will be available on newsstands Friday, October 15. Here is a short excerpt: (thanks, Gaff!)

The title of Richards' book is a simple, accurate description of the contents: the 66-year-old guitarist's highs, lows and death-defying excesses, from birth to now, vividly related in his natural pirate-hipster cadence and syntax. Life opens with a comic roller-coaster account of a last-minute rescue from hard time in Arkansas during the Stones' 1975 tour. Richards, who wrote the book with British author James Fox, then goes long and deep on his postwar boyhood — an only child of divorced parents in the rough London suburb of Dartford — and the emotional rescue he found in American blues, the formation of the Rolling Stones and his creative bond with Jagger. At one point, Richards describes a recent trip to Dartford, visiting old haunts like the three-room flat over a grocery where he, his mother, Doris, and father, Bert, lived from 1949 to 1952. "It's almost like you're looking at somebody else," Richards says now. "Then you start to feel small things, like the smell of a gas lamp or my grandmother shuffling around and my grandfather going, 'Make the boy some egg and chips.'"

After releasing Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones on Blu-ray and DVD, we are treated with another nice package: the boys are planning a pair of vinyl box sets to be due just before Thanksgiving. The sets will be available on November 22 in the U.K. and November 23 in the U.S.

The remastered, limited edition releases will feature 23 studio albums in total, in addition to compilations and EPs. The sets are organized in chronological fashion. The first set collects Mick Jagger and the boys’ work from 1964-69. The second spans a larger time period: 1971-2005.

Tour forecast - Thanks to taz22 (our thanks to him!) we hear from a talk he had with Tim Reis, that Tim, Blondie Chaplin, Darryl Jones, Lisa Fisher and Bernard Fowler are ready to tour and are waiting for the confirmation for the next Stones tour. So as the whole bunch of the supporting members of the band itself are waiting for the call, it so follows that things must be imminent.

As we know, the Stones will meet in December for a 'Tour Summit' and at least then, things will be official. Right now, from all that we hear, it is almost shure, that we will be treated with another tour and, hopefully, a new album.

Keith exhibition - By the end of October, the place to be might well be San Francisco, for there will be the opening at the San Francisco Art Exchange on October 23: “Before They Make Me Run – Portraits of Keith Richards ’63 to ‘71”

- Ronnie: he's now sober an kicking since seven months. Apparently, he feels really good with it.In addition to his new album, we now have a judgement about his painting. Here's a short citation:

"Wood has ability, but his work is unresolved and scattered. Most of it is illustrative - straight from concert photos. Works such as Rolling Stones, 2009, are awkward attempts to capture the energy of what happens onstage. Passages in the painting allow line to emphasize form and space, but that success is negated by awkward color combinations and unintentional spatial ambiguities.
Despite the unfortunate use of ocher vignettes, the portraits Mick Jagger II, Keith Richards II and Charlie Watts II are well-executed. [..]
The best works in the show are in a series of untitled mixed-media figure drawings. Many seem to be drawn from life, allowing a rich sensitivity to shape and structure."

GOOD NEWS: The boys will hold a summit meeting in December, probably the 10th, to decide on plans for a rumoured world tour.

Drummer Charlie Watts recently hinted the ageing rockers are planning one final road trip in 2011 or 2012, but guitarist Ronnie Wood insists nothing will be decided until the four band members meet in person to thrash out their future plans.

Ronnie Wood tells WENN, "It's all talk. Nothing's concrete yet. We normally have a summit meeting before the Stones do anything and that's coming up probably in December. It'll be interesting to see what everyone wants to do."

And the rocker lifts the lid on the inner workings of the band, adding, "At a Stones summit we sit around together and draw caricatures of each other and tell a few jokes and maybe see if any of us wants to work as a band again."

An Evening With Ronnie Wood – ‘I Feel Like Playing’: Ronnie will play the Ambassadors Theatre, West London on Octzober 19th for two gigs at 7.30pm and 10.30pm.

Ronnie Wood needs no introduction to any fan of British rock music. Starting his career with The Birds and then Creation, it was when Ronnie joined the Jeff Beck Group that he truly started to stamp his identity on the music world. According to the SUN, Mick stayed in Laos searching for solitude, vsited temples and meditated with monks.

Mick] drank just water during his week alone in the city of Luang Prabang in Laos, South East Asia. A source said: "Mick booked two rooms in the hotel - one for himself, the other for his luggage. He clearly wanted to be at one with himself."

The source added: "Mick uses the trip to regenerate himself. He spent hours with monks in the temples and chanted with them. He practises Buddhism and meditation every day. He says it's the first thing he does when he gets up in the morning. [...] Mick stays in different places and has a lot of contacts among the monks. He's said it's his favourite place in the world."

I say, if Mick stayed in Laos for that time, he's likely to catch up breath - before the new album & tour!

It's been 6 months now, that our hellraiser has stayed sober, it seems. If that proofs to be correct, it would be very good news indeed! Right now he's in Spain for holidays!

Not a small part in that story may be due to Ana Araujo, Ronnie's brazilian girlfriend he's been dating since beginning of this year. He has credited her with supporting him as he pays regular visits to Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous to ensure he stays on track. Tough job, I suppose, at least in parts. Cheers to Ana: unless Ronnie stays clean and fit, he's in danger of missing the next tour. But before this could be a near possibility, Mick, Keith and Charlie would definitely kick his ass...

=> September 12 - Re-Release of Ladies & Gentlemen

LONDON — The Rolling Stones have hit their peak again in 2010, this time in the form of a rarely seen rereleased movie of a 1972 concert.

"Ladies and Gentlemen ... The Rolling Stones" was originally released in late 1973 in Britain, but the film was not widely shown. The digitally remastered version, which made its global premiere on Tuesday in London, shows the Stones at their best, belting out classics like "Brown Sugar," "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash" along with "new" songs like "Tumbling Dice," Sweet Virginia" and "Rip This Joint."

The latter songs were all on the 1972 album "Exile on Main St.," which was also remastered and rereleased this year to great acclaim.

None of the current Rolling Stones members that are in the movie — Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts — made it for the premiere, but former bassist Bill Wyman was in attendance. Wyman was with the band for 30 years but quit in 1992 to explore other musical opportunities.

Although Jagger wasn't there, a short interview with the lead singer was played on screen before the movie began.

"Everyone's very together and on," Jagger said in the interview, which was recorded about six weeks ago in London. "I can remember the Rolling Stones being very, kind of, lackadaisical, very sloppy band on stage. But this was obviously not the case on this day."

=> September 03 - We now have another positive report on the subject of the new 50 years anniversary tour of the Rolling Stones. As Charlie told a French newspaper, he said that the group was considering going on tour in 2012 to celebrate their 50 years of its existence (see earthtimes.org for details):

"We are discussing it at the moment. We said that if we do something, it will be next year or the year after," the 69-year-old musician said in an interview published Friday in the French daily Le Parisien. But Watts said that it was increasingly diffcult to plan far ahead. "We have reached an age where you can't look too far into the future," he said.The Rolling Stones came together in April 1962, led by singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, with Watts joining the group soon afterwards. Jagger is 67 years old, one year older than Richards."We will resume playing whenever Mick and Keith get bored," Watts said. "At the moment, they are having a good time."

Due age considered, we can be shure to know that the boys are planning something for us as far as their abilities reach. And that's good enough for me by this time. More news coming n soon, hopefully!

Gibson.com recently caught up with Taylor by phone from his London office, in between European shows. Ever the performer, the guitarist seems keen to get back on the road after having to cancel dates earlier in the year because of an illness.

As swedish newspaper 'Expressen' writes, Anders Albertsson, who is Arena-Manager of the Ullevi stadion in Goteburg, Sweden, has begun to negotiate with Life Nation for the possibility of a gig of the Stones in next summer. (thx to Addicted and FolkyFireKitten1 for the tips!)

Negotiations between the management and possible venues at this time seem quite possible to me at this point. Although this is the first possible venue of a possible next Stones tour of which I heard so far, it is a little strange that this is an european venue. That would point to a tour starting in Europe before moving over to the US. Even if that would not be the usual way they tour, it still is a possibility. Lessons learned from tours before where tax issues forced them to cancel gigs in the UK. However things may develop, I'll keep you posted as soon as I can!

=> August 13 - It's "Ladies & Gentlemen" and it's one night only!

We can look forward to an official DVD release of the long awaited film "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Rolling Stones" in october 2010.

Before this DVD (Blue Ray too, of cause) will be released, Eagle Rock Entertainment and Omniverse Vision are partnering with more than 800 cinemas globally to screen this movie celebrating The Rolling Stones’ Exile On Main Street 1972 tour. There will be 531 movie cinemas in the U.S and many theaters in the UK.

According to a press release today from National CineMedia, a remastered version of the film, which captures the Stones onstage in Fort Worth and Houston and opened in limited release in 1974, will be screened in 531 movie theaters nationwide at 7:30 p.m. (local time) on September 16.

Here is a full list of all U.S theaters taking part! And it's just one day only: September 16!

=> August 12 -Faces 1st reunion gig in london

Kicking off their reunion tour at a concert held by American Express at the British Music Experience at London's O2 Arena, Hucknall ran through the hits to rapturous applause and shouts of "best band in the world" from the crowd. They played to an audience of just 400 people, so it was an intimate gig.

Ronnie was joined by two fellow original Faces members - drummer Kenney Jones and keyboard player Ian McLagan. Former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock completes the line-up for the reunion tour, and last night Wood's son Jesse joined them on stage to play guitar. Speaking before their performance, the rocker said it was "magic" having Hucknall sing with the band. He said: "We do miss Rod but having Mick here is just unbelievable because it's one of those situations that you probably at first think wouldn't work but it's magic." Ronnie congratulated Rod Stewart on the news he and his wife Penny Lancaster were expecting another child together.

=> August 7 - It's Stones or beatles at 2012 olympics in London?

Aparently, both The Beatles' legend Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones are considered possible candidates to headline the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics. The Daily Star reports:

"The 2012 Olympics opening ­ceremony is going to be ­spectacular. It has to be to kick off the event in great British style. Everyone wants to be a part of this historical happening and what is great for us is The Rolling Stones and Paul ­McCartney are interested in playing," a source said.
"We're looking at the American Super Bowl's half-time show - which they have played at - as the kind of thing we're going for with the opening ceremony. It would be great to have both but there can only be one headliner. It's going to be difficult but talks have opened and we'll see what can be worked out," the source said.

Be that as it may - the Stones have not yet said anything official about this. But this is just another hint in the same direction of what we have to expect. And I bet, there will be more and more news surfacing soon!

=> August 3 - Ronnie's new album due this fall

This is his seventh studio record and entitled "'I FEEL LIKE PLAYING" and is due out 27th September 2010 [Cat. No. EAGCD428].

There's a bunch of friends and guests on the album, such as Slash, Flea, Billy Gibbons, Kris Kristofferson, Bobby Womack, Ian McLagan and more. At blogcritics.org, Phyllis Pollack writes a question he asked Bernard Fowler, the producer of Ronnie's album:

"I asked Fowler about the upcoming release, and he told me, "This is the second album I produced for him, and the hardest because of what he was going through, and it can plainly be heard." He adds, "With the help of Bob Rock and friends, it is a well rounded record, if I must say so myself."

=> New at amzon and elswhere: RARE AND UNSDEEN - The Rolling Stones. As I haven't seen it yet, here's what Terrence Butcher at popmatters.com has to say about this DVD, among other things:

"[...] MVD Visual is betting that the band’s legions – no, generations of devotees - still hunger for more behind-the-scenes tidbits, as they’ve released this The Rolling Stones: Rare and Unseen on DVD. It isn’t a concert film, nor should it be, as the Stones have at least eight(!) of such under their belts, surely a record no other artist can match.

[...] This non-performance documentary – and the group has notched a few of those as well – contains over an hour of assorted clips, most allegedly not widely seen before. The footage isn’t limited to a particular era, but instead spans decades, from their early years of seducing Britain’s teen populace while scandalizing the starchy establishment to the middle-aged mega-stardom of the ‘80s onward. Refreshingly, there’s no chronological linearity in the film, so it’s impossible to predict what will come next, although that may be maddening to some viewers.

[...] Though occasionally engrossing, The Rolling Stones: Rare and Unseen is a must only for dyed-in-the-wool fans, and even they may wish there was more music in the doc; one wonders if that was a tangled rights issue there. The film presents a lifetime of interviews, and I chuckle slightly while noting how various members, including Jagger, have aged, looking rather craggy and gaunt-faced as they slide into – dare I say – their elderly years. => July 28 - The mighty tour-machine starts rolling!

As Bloomberg Businessweek reports, we have reasonable support for the best of our hopes! As far as the report tells, the Stones

" ... are in talks with promoters AEG Live and Live Nation Entertainment Inc. for a tour, according to a person who declined to be identified because talks are private.
[...] The Stones are planning concerts in the next few years and haven’t yet signed a contract, said the person. An auction for the tour has been under way for about a month and a group of independent promoters is also bidding, the person said."

Even if this will not be called a farewell tour, it could be promoted as such and the demand will be enormous, because .. this is the Stones, man! They grossed $558.3 million with their last tour, so everyone wants to join in of cause.

Ronnie will display his art at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio - an eight-week exhibition that the museum says is the first American show of Mr. Wood’s art. The show lastss from Sep. 21, 2010 through Nov. 21, 2010. It will feature about 60 works. Ronnie is expected to be in attendance for the show’s opening at a gathering of museum patrons, and that, in this instance, no extraordinary requests appeared in his tour rider.

=> July 27 - We already saw this coming more than a year ago or something; now this thing seems to dawn upon us!

Farewell? Well, not yet, it seems. According to Entertainment Weekly (or the NY Post), a Stones representative has denied the farewell part of the disussion. That leaves the new tour, new album part of the issue. And that was NOT denied. By now, things are slowly moving to their place, it seems. Considering the scale of one more Stones world tour, it is safe to say that behind the curtains, the planning has already begun. According to a fan in Richmond, Charlie stopped by Mick two days ago (July 24th) and there was some gathering going on. Maybe because Mick's approaching birthday, but it's easy to assume that some tourplans were made as well.

=> July 26 - Meanwhile, we hear from Ronnie, that this tour is not meant to be a farewell. Which is alright for me, 'cause the Stones never have agreed to any 'Last Stones Tour' since 1965!

Ronie said: “We’ll rock till we drop.” He confirmed that he, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts ARE planning a tour – but it will NOT mean the end: “We have all agreed this won’t be the last time. Everyone’s rocking.” (see people.co.uk fot this)

=> July 25 - The Stones are set to finally bow out after 50 years in music - with a giant farewell tour! As The Sun reports, they are in talks with promoters Live Nation about the tour, and a source said:

"They're likely to perform in stadiums. It's almost certainly the last full-scale world tour. The band realise that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans."

Patty has battled cancer...

Patti Hansen reveals in the August issue of Vogue magazine that she was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2007.

She says she first underwent chemotherapy, which shrunk the tumor but didn't get rid of it completely. One doctor said she had two to three years to live.

Her next move was a bold one: Doctors removed her bladder and used her intestine to create a neobladder, or a new bladder. She also had her appendix removed and a full hysterectomy.

=> As we all wait for Keith's bio to be released, the PR seems to gather speed.

Now we can read reports, that "Keith Richards planning new tell-all book" or "Keith Richards exposes Mick Jagger in autobiography" or that "Mick Jagger upset with Keith Richards' revelations" or things like:

The autobiography is being seen as a big gamble by the guitarist because its revelations could permanently fracture the band. [...] An early draft has already been written, with band's management advising him to tone certain sections down in order to avoid a confrontation with his bandmate.

Well, this of cause does the trick, I think. A more balanced view could be found in "The Odd Couple", I guess. Nevertheless - this book seems to be a must have for most of us, right!?

Universal is treating the album like a new release rather than a catalog reissue, with what Davis calls a "front-line release strategy that crosses radio, TV, online, mobile, retail and merch."

Key to the initiative will be a weeklong Stones celebration on NBC's "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" beginning May 10 that will feature a number of high-profile acts performing songs from "Exile," including Keith Urban (May 11), Sheryl Crow (May 12) and Phish (May 13). The week culminates with NBC's May 14 U.S. premiere of Stephen Kijak's documentary film "Stones in Exile," mixing "Exile"-era footage with current band member interviews. In the United Kingdom, "Stones in Exile" will premiere on BBC 2, although an exact airdate is to be announced.

Universal is also ensuring that the new tracks get as wide an audience as possible.
