So here are Mick (9:27), Keith (14:44), Charlie (11:56), and Ronnie (13:32) December 3 - B&L=> I can't help it. I love this band! Listening to the songs from B&L, I'm almost in tears. What a band! Are we fans LUCKY of what, for Chrissakes? "Unrepressed Rythm 'N' Blues with the unmitigating, ebulient, perturbing Rollin' Stones!". Period. 'nuf said. Let it roll! What a band ... November 26 - Blue & LonesomeNovember 24 - Blue & Lonesome Review=> Recommended Review of Blue & Lonesome: Blue & Lonesome is the album any Rolling Stones fan would have wished for (telegraph.co.uk) November 19 - That other album...=> Remember? Well, we got some more news bits about that from the NYC Exhibitionism event! According to billboard.com, Keith said: "The reason we hit into the blues stuff was we were in a new studio and in new rooms, it always takes a while to adjust to sounds ... So I said to Ronnie and Mick, 'Let's just hit into the blues,' something we're all familiar with to get the sound together. It came together so quickly and so well, suddenly Mick said, 'Well in that case, let's do this Howlin' Wolf song,' and one led to another and before we knew it we had an album without any intention of doing it.". Ronnie adds: "That's what we were working on when we decided to cut these blues songs," guitarist Ronnie Wood tells Billboard of the unfinished originals. "The blues songs that we played we hit it once or twice maximum and cut it, so we had an album in two or three days. The new material will take a while to sit and reshape.". Quality is, well, ... but for fans... you get the idea, hehehe... October 26 - Private Gig in Boston!=> Last gig for 2016! The Stones delivered a 14 song set to a festive crowd attending the birthday party. Here's the setlist:
pics: christiano, rogerriffin, iorr, instagram October 25 - Private Gig in Boston?=> According to two articles in the Boston Globe, the Stones and friends have set up camp at the Four Seasons. Patriots owner Robert Kraft is hosting a an exclusive party Tuesday night for his friends and business associates, including a private performance by the Rolling Stones at Gillette Stadium! See here: bostonglobe.com/metro and bostonglobe.com/lifestyle October 24 - Bill's birthday=> Happy, happy 80th birthday, Bill! October 23 - No reschedule - refunds!=> The cancelled gig on October 19 will not be rescheduled! Refunds are available. So this is tour end here. That's sad, because I had hoped for another, rescheduled gig. Oh well. The official statement: "Please be advised that due to scheduling challenges, the cancelled Rolling Stones concert on Wednesday, October 19 at T-Mobile Arena will not be rescheduled. The Rolling Stones, T-Mobile Arena, MGM Resorts International, Concerts West and AEG Live apologise for any inconvenience this causes ticket holders." The official site has the details for your refunds. October 22 - Maybe 3 Keith songs tonight? Yes, got 'em! :-)=> Even if the show has ended by now, you can still replay the Scopes from tonight for some time, if you like: Isabel // Marc // Just ended: the Stage Tour! // Replay Tattoo You Parlour, have a look
=> Mick just tweeted, that the show is ON! "Thanks everyone for your good wishes. Really looking forward to getting back on stage tomorrow night in Vegas! Hope to see you at the show". See Mick's tweet So tonight, we could have 3 songs by Keith again, thus Mick gets some more rest in the middle of the show... => Latest news to be noticed would be that a) so far there's NO official cancellation as yet, b) the Vegas merch is still online at the Stones Shop and c) rumors are told that AEG says that the gig is ON! [thx Christiano, spikenyc - iorr] Also: Alexandra Richards is flying in to LV... - Nothing is known so far about the reschedule of the 10-19 show, but I'm sure there will be one! October 21 - 3:25 or 27:56 of "Hate To See You Go" / Tomorrow's gig still NOT cancelled=> The Stones just tweeted a snippet from another song from "Blue & Lonesome" called Hate To See You Go! Not many words needed here, I just LOVE it. WHAT a band! => Nothing's official yet, but so far, one day before the show, no cancellation has been issued by the Sones' office. This leaves the impression, that Mick has recoverd successfully from his laryngitis. I recon, he got that because of the desert air; he said, singing at Desert trip was like singing into a hair-dryer... The Las Vegas reviewjournal.com has some lines about this, too. => Bernard and Tim took the stage at the Sand Dolla Lounge last Wednesday! They joined guitarist Jimmy MacIntosh and played through the set quite some of the well-known Stones songs. Again, the reviewjournal.com has some more details... October 20 - Saturday's gig / Ronnie plays with Geri Halliwell=> No official news yet for Saturday! I.e. we don't know if Mick's recorery has progressed enough for making the next gig on Saturday possible. Laryngitis is hard to cure within a few days and if Mick's voice is not fit enough, he should not sing and shout for 120 minutes. But you can rest assured that Mick is getting the best possible treatment for sure. so once again, only thing we can do is sit and wait and wish Mick all the best! => Ronnie has visited ex Spice girl Geri Hallywell! He had his guitar with him and the two performed an acoustic version of the late Jim Croce's 1973 classic "I Got A Name".
Here's the corresponding dailymail.co.uk article: "'Jamming with Ronnie!' Pregnant Geri Horner, 44, shows off her vocal skills as she performs acoustic rendition of seventies hit with Rolling Stone Wood". And here you have the video:
October 19 - OUTCH!!! Laryngitis!=> Tonight's show has been CANCELLED! According to the Stones homepage, Mick sufferes from laryngitis and so was forced to cancel the gig tonight. They hope to have information about rescheduling this date soon... I'll cite: "We encourage ticket holders to wait for that information before seeking refunds. We also hope to have further information about the status of the concert scheduled for Saturday, October 22." See rollingstones.com for the whole statement. Mick also apologises to us: "I'm so sorry about the cancellation of Wednesday's show in Las Vegas, I've got bad laryngitis. I do apologise to everyone who bought tickets." (twitter.com) October 18 - Happy birthday, Chuck Berry!=> Chuck Berry has reached the 90ies today! A huge pile of congratulations to the man! Rolling Stone congrats, too, and highlights the fact, that Berry has a new record out by 2017, entitled 'Chuck', dedicated to his wife and features new songs written, recorded and produced by the man himself: rollingstone.com October 17 - Desert Trip II aftermath=> Again it was a great conert at Desert Trip II! Here are some voices: Here's how the Rolling Stones mixed up their Desert Trip Weekend Two set (pe.com) / Desert Trip Weekend 2: Rolling Stones Mix It Up, Nobel Prize Winner Bob Dylan Stays Stoic (billboard.com) / Desert Trip Weekend 2: Dylan, Stones return (usatoday.com) / Rolling Stones pay tribute to Nobel laureate Bob Dylan (euronews.com) /

October 12 - Stones Q&A at Twitter=> The Q&A at Twitter has finished! Mick began, followed by Keith, Charlie and Ronnie. Charlie in particular was just hilarious! Go there, enjoy! Preorder at the official store or at amazon, itunes, etc... Here's the official info: The Rolling Stones announce their return to the blues with new album 'Blue & Lonesome' out on December 2. => While waiting for today's announcement, please enjoy this 15 minute video from the Bigger Bang rehearsals - I haven't seen that before... => Meanwhile, the Stones have their own BlueTongue emoji for twitter. Also, across London and other towns, the Blues Tongue was displayed last night on buildings by the Blueman Associates, here (and below) their pics from Instagram October 5 - Blue & Lonesome (?) / Private gig yesterday! / 10 lovely seconds=> In a few hours, tomorrow, the Stones will announce something! Rumors have it, that the first single of the new album will be released. Suggested album title is "BLUE & LONESOME" and the first single would be the band playing a song by Little Walter, "Just Your Fool" - but all of that stays unconfirmed until, well, a few hours! :-) Of course, the album will come in the usual different formats and editions! Yes! What a band! => The Stones played a private gig yesterday in Vegas at the Shepard Exposition Services AV division for 1,200 truckers at the 2016 Freightliner customer appreciation dinner! As you can see below, it's a stripped down setlist without anything risky or new (exept for the rebirth of Mixed Emotions, maybe) - quite suitable for the folks attending, I think, as well as a nice and probably well payed warm-up gig for the band before playing at Coachella.
Sources: Twitter, IORR, Google, SDB; report: ttnews.com => 10 lovely seconds for tomorrow: October 2 - Club gig tonight? / Stones announce ... what?=> Remember the Club gig rumours? Well, it could be tonight! Charlotte Watts has published a picture on Instagram (see below) which shows stage gear inside a truck ready to unload. Whether that's for a gig tonight or for rehearsals is not really clear - if it's for tonight: go out there, try to find the place where it happens (we still don't know) and get in by any means! All the best of luck, folks!!! => The Stones officially announce for October 6 ... what?? The blue Stones tongue on a board in some urban area (that particular board is located in London [thx Rollin92, iorr]) - As usual, there's no hint as to what will happen this thursday. Ok, let's say we're lucky an we'll get the new single from the new Blues album just a day before the first Coachella gig... ;-) ... A propos Coachella: nice article in the NYtimes: "Coachella Classic: A Festival for Rock Giants and Their Aging Fans" [thx 505, sdb] October 1 - Stones turn Blues / Secret Club gig(s)?? / Guitar Moves with Keith Richards, #2=> The Blues Tongue! A blue Stones tongue appears - could be a hint to the new album!? => Just about a week before the Coachella gigs, rumours start about one or more club gig(s) which the Stones could do! [Thx BV, IORR] This idea is neither new nor too far fetched - the Stones like to do club gigs before starting a tour, even if they are private events. In this case, the tour ahead is only 4 dates deep. But the band is in incredibly good spirits, likes to perform and does so on a really very high level (as we could see from the SA gigs and Havannah Moon). Accordingly, a club gig could be just likely take place, most probably in the east cost area like in LA or Vegas. This is really very exiting - so every hint concerning this would be very much apprechiated by us all! So if you have some information, tweet (@stonesnews_com) or mail to stonesnews.com! => Remember the above mentioned video? Well, that was one year ago. I just LOVED that. Now we are treated with the second part by Matt Sweeney from Noisey Guitar Moves of that interview (for part #1 check here, October 22, 2015) - very cool!! September 30 - Don Was on the Blues album / Review SA-Tour docu=> Nice details about the upcoming new Blues album! Don Was was interviewed by the french Figaro and told them about the sessions: "It was recorded live in the studio in just three days, with the musicians in a circle around the microphones. There was no retouching on the pieces. Means the battery of Charlie Watts through the microphone of Mick Jagger. The record sounds very crude, very authentic. It captures the essence of what they are." Before, Mick had tweeted a pic from rehearsals, Ronnie followed. => NYTimes about the tour docu: " [...] Complications arise, the sort that crop up when you're the Stones: President Obama's surprise announcement of a visit to Cuba forces a scheduling change, and the pope weighs in, tsk-tsking when the revised date is Good Friday. 'It's a bit cheeky,' Keith Richards says of His Holiness's comments. 'He's not my manager." Links: Google translation of the Figaro article / ultimateclassicrock.com / nytimes.com September 27 - Rehearsals / Havannah Moon=> Rehearsals are continuing! However, nothing much slips through. If you look at Sasha Allen's twitter, you'll find the Stones rehearsals mentioned for September 20 and 23, but nothing more. Neither does Ronnie or Sally tweet anything about rehearsals, although about taking their cute twins for a swim-session. Also, Bernard's Instagram has a nice picture of Charlie's "OPEN" sign also from Sept. 23 - but I still hope for more information coming to us later on! September 23 - Havanna Moon today / Lost Weekend with Keith=> I'm on my way to see Havannah Moon tonight! Very much looking forward to this! => No cinema today? Well, have a look at the BBC4! The Lost Weekend with Keith starts there today, too! September 21 - Rehearsals have started / Another review=> Rehearsals have now started in Hollywood! (thx Gaff, [shd]) No details as to what was rehearsed as yet, but that might come later, if we are lucky! => Another nice review of "Havanna Moon" by Uncut Magazine - so that's another recommended read. Got my tickets for tomorrow ready and I'm very much looking forward to this film! Here's a taste from the Uncut review: "For all the theatricality of a Stones' show these days [...] the inherent dramatic tensions of songs like 'Midnight Rambler', 'Gimme Shelter' and 'Sympathy For The Devil' are never quite lost, the band's darker, lysergic impulses just a shot away." Here's the link: uncut.co.uk September 19 - Lost Weekent time schedule=> Here's the schedule for Keith's 'Lost Weekend' at BBC4, starting with Friday, September 23, 19:00 until September 26, 02:40 => bbc.co.uk/programmes (Thx to J.Delmere, UC) September 17 - Rehearsals in LA soon! / Keith & Ronnie grilled at premiere=> Mick has tweeted: "We are going to start our rehearsals for the Desert Trip shows soon. Have you got any ideas for the set lists?" - well that's truly very good news innit!? Most likely, rehearsals will have started by now in LA - at least that's what Keith said in the video below... => Keith, Patty, Ronnie and Sally were grilled by the press on the red carpet yesterday at the TIFF in Toronto for the premiere of "OLE OLE OLE - A Trip Across Latin America". Enjoy the video an the pics! Also, we now have a nice review by the Rolling Stone himself - recommended! Can't wait for next Friday: got my tickets for the cinema ready ... September 16 - OOC from 'Havanna Moon'=> Really nice: see Out Of Control from the upcoming cinema event, Havanna Moon! Thanks to NME.com, we can enjoy this bit as a taste for next Friday... can't wait! September 11 - Review: "A Trip Across Latin America"=> Another recommended read: ! hollywoodreporter.com has a nice review of the Latin America tour documentation, directed by Paul Dugdale, and which is being shown worldwide in cinemas this upcoming Friday only. I'll cite: "To everyone who might have thought they'd seen enough Rolling Stones concert documentaries for one lifetime, the greatest old geezer rock 'n' roll band in the world proves otherwise in Ole! Ole! Ole!: A Trip Across Latin America. [...]". Well, I got my tickets here with me and I'm very much looking forward to this: I just love Stones documentaries!
September 9 - Chuck Leavell interview=> Recommended read: Chuck Leavell interview: "The Director Is In: Chuck Leavell Talks The Rolling Stones, David Gilmour, Karl D & More" at jambase.com. September 8 - 2nd Vegas show is official and last date for 2016!=> The Rolling Stones have announced a second and (sadly) final US show for 016 in Las Vegas, Saturday, October 22 at T-Mobile Arena. Again, there will be some Lucky Dip tickets for us in the mix so don't you miss this! Tickets are on sale Friday, September 16 at 10am PT at AXS.com. More infos about tickets and Lucky Dips at rollingstones.com. September 7 - New trailer for Cuba documentary=> Nice new trailer for the new documentary Olé, Olé, Olé!: A Trip Across Latin America! - Enjoy!! This video was deleted, sorry... September 6 - Exhibitionism Downunder / 2nd Vegas gig / BBC 4=> After London, Exhibitionism will open at Industria in New York City's West Village this November (Tickets: general on sale starts 9/14. And in 2018, it's moving to Sydney, Australia! You can sign up here for a waitlist for priority access and to hear more about Exhibitionism coming to Sydney. [thx Steve, UC] => We hoped for it, we got it! A second show in Las Vegas is very likely to happen Saturday, October 22. At least, radio station 98.5 KFOX has a competition for 2 tickets running for this date... [thx Harpo, IORR] => Don't forget that Keith is going to take over BBC 4 when he hosts the channel's Lost Weekend for 3 days! During this, Keith will hand-pick all the shows and will feature between them across each night in a specially-filmed in-depth interview. The schedule will feature some of his favourite movies, such as Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps and The Man Who Would Be King starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine, as well as never seen before Rolling Stones archive footage and archive footage of Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix with Keith. August 28 - Europe-Tour, Blues-Album out for December?=> Dates for Europe 2017 tour are prepared by now! The bidding round has started and usually, no details leak into public. In some cases it does, however, and that would be Serbia, Norway or Austria. Speaking of latter, you can see the corresponding news at wegotit.at . There, the Ernst Happel-Stadion is only available for a almost 8 weeks between May 26 and mid July. If they decide to play at "Rock in Vienna", then that would be between June 2 to June 4. But nevertheless, things start moving! The Stones just wait for the end of the bidding phase and then can choos from among the mst convenient. => The new blues-inspired album of the Stones will probably be released by December this year! That's what the above mentioned site mentions in that same article. So the next thing is the one-day screening of the Cuba show in cinemas worldwide, then before Christmas the new blues album, followed by the new tracks album in 2017, most probably before the European Tour. But since there are no more news about the possible gigs for Hide Park or anything like a tour in 2012 right now, I thought we could use the occasion and look back over yonder... Recently, a treasure of photographs were discoverd after photographer Peter Webb's negatives went missing after shooting the Stones for that monster record "Sticky Fingers".
