More Information

December 14 – Go boys, go!!

=> The boys (Mick, Keith and Ronnie I suppose) are still in the studio as you read this and are still working on new tracks for the new album! Sunday was a holiday, but things must be running well as they are still working together. That’s great news, folks, isn’t it? The band is about to fly to Chile around mid-January to begin rehearsals for the upcoming tour. Thanks to Nate [iorr] for the info and let’s hope the guys stay in the studio some more days, hehehe!

December 10 – New songs recorded! Cuba!

=> Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie have been in a London studio over the past week!! A source said: “The guys booked in for a few sessions to lay down some tracks which Mick and Keith have written. It’s very early stuff – just four or five songs at the moment – but the plan is to make a full new album in the new year.“. Also good news is, that after Mick had visited Cuba earlier this year, a stadium show is still being planned and the band wants to document this with a film, too. On top of all that, the band plans to get together to attend the opening night gala of Exhibitionism in April 2016. Read more along these lines at tv3.ie and thesun.co.uk.

December 7 – Twins for Ronnie & Sally! / London studio

=> Great news for Sally & Ronnie: Sally is expecting twins! They should be born by June next year. Wow! 🙂 Congratulations!!! See the Mirror.co.uk for more…
Also coming up: News as whether the Stones are gathering in London for some studio sessions …

December 1 – GQ Keith interview

=> Recommended Read: Nice article at GQ Magazine with Keith. They also have a video, where Keith answeres the question which album gave birth to the Rolling Stones.

November 29 – 2nd gig in Mexico confirmed!

=> Rolling Stones anuncian segundo concierto en México – the Stones announce 2nd concert in Mexico! You can read that as a headline at peru.com. So, the additional date will be March 17.

November 20 – Ticket sales for Peru today

=> The Pre-Sale is already over for the stones’ gig on March 6. in Lima and over half of the tickets were already sold during the pre-sale period. Today the general tickets sale begins.
About 20,000 tickets are still left for the Estadio Monumental. Before, it took only 50 minutes and the the Golden zone was sold out; the same thing happened with the Occident VIP zone shortly after. As the stadium has a capacity of 60,000, this indicates that about 40,000 tickets have already been sold even before the general sale.

November 19 – Keith’s hitting the news again!

=> Keith has released the video for his latest solo single! An animated, stylish video for his laid-back version of Gregory Isaacs’ “Love Overdue” is a nice addendum to his video work and a nice follow up of his first single from Crosseyed Heart. “Love Overdue” will be released on December 11. See rollingstone.com and NME.com for this.

November 13 – Ronnie: New tracks in December

=> Ronnie has just recently added fuel to the fire! He expects the band to cut some new tracks next month and just jam together to touch base for the new album. Also, they will start with rehearsals for the SA. Olé Tour in January. That will keep us warm during this winter, folks! 😉

Ronnie told ABC Radio:“We’ll maybe go in the studio in December and cut a few tracks and see what happens … We’ll take it from there, see how it all goes … One thing at a time … it’s always good after a little sabbatical to get back with the boys and exchange stories and start the engines running again.

He also mentioned Cuba: “Cuba could be great if we could get there … That’s not a done deal yet, but it’s in the offing as we speak.

… god, I love this band!

The fans are amazing.” Here are the reports from Examiner.com and Billboard.com, to quote just 2 from the many others.

Three dates for Argentina, La Plata, are possible in February 7th, 10th. and 13th. And for Mexico, sopitas.com tells us, that the Stones are confirmed for this spring: “CONFIRMADO: The Rolling Stones regresan a México en el 2016“. [thx Chrisiano, IORR, Twitter]

November 2 – London meeting, New album in the works

=> According to news sources, all four bandmembers have had a meeting in London recently and agreed to record a new album! The band had met in London just recently. Keith told the Sunday Times Magazine: “I’d love to shove them in the studio in April, hot off the road.“. That would be right after their South American tour. So Mick and Keith could begin work for their first new album in a decade by Christmas. See telegraph.co.uk or theguardian.com for the news reports.

October 27 – Keith at Desert Islands

=> Listen to Keith being interviewed by Kirsty Young for Desert Island Discs, BBC Radio 4

October 24 – Apollo Theater

=> A great night it has been at the Apollo. Keith performed Gimme Shelter and Happy to an enthusiastic audience. Rolling Stone writes, that he burns through Stones classic in honor of Merry Clayton. Here’s two pics from FB and two videos of last night’s performance. On YT, you’ll find some more videos from that event already.

October 22 – Guitar Moves with Keith Richards / A Great Night In Harlem

=> A dream comes true – we meet Keith in the studio and talk about guitars and guitar playing. Matt Sweeney from Noisey Guitar Moves gets 16 minutes of talk with Keith – from his Grandfather Gus to Open G-Tuning – and he plays it! I love it!

=> Radio New Orleans WWOZ 90.7 FM will broadcast live from tonight’s The Jazz Foundation of America’s annual gala, “A Great Night in Harlem,” at the Apollo Theater. You can expect Keith to show up and play on two songs… see WWOZ for this.

As the Stones site informs us, the performance will take place at the Jazz Foundation of America (JFA)’s 14th Annual A Great Night in Harlem gala event tomorrow, October 22, at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem. October 11 – The Rolling Stones set to play 3 gigs in Argentina!

=> The gigs will happen in February next year! As buenosairesherald.com reports: “The Rolling Stones will play Argentina for the fourth time, with three dates in February next year at the Estadio Único of La Plata, the capital city of Buenos Aires province.” we can rest more assured now of the next tour happening next year. It will probably last until March 2016. If after that they go into the studio to record a new album, it is not too far off to expect them to tour behind the new songs. That’s at least what we can hope for…

October 9 – Another recommended read

=> Here’s Keith in another article worthwhile reading: RollingStone.com: “Keith Richards on Getting Busted, Zeppelin and Stones’ Future – ‘God knows what laboratory made it, but it’s a kind of natural thing,’ says guitarist of Stones’ chemistry

October 7 – Keith on the cover of the Rolling Stone

=> Keith the Rolling Stone on the cover of the Rolling Stone – Yup! That’s a good place to find him. Together with a nice article “It Ain’t Easy Being Keith Richards: Inside the New Issue – Rock’s pirate king speaks candidly about Mick, mortality and more in new cover story” you can read this online at rollingstone.com.

October 6 – Mick in Cuba – now also in English 😉

=> Now we also have reports about Mick’s trip to Cuba in English. See theguardian.com or dailymail.co.uk for more … Mick also tweeted a pic of him in Havana and he also met X Alfonso (born c. 1974 as Equis Alfonso, a Cuban hip hop and afro-rock musician), so he also is in contact with the local music scene.

Mick in Havana, October 5, 2015 Mick meets X Alfonso, Havana, October 5, 2015

October 5 – Mick in Cuba!

=> Mick just pays Cuba a visit. Of cause not only for tourist reasons, you bet! So that’s really nice: we now can safely enter the Pre-South-America-Tour-phase – Mick most likely checks out the possibilities for a Stones gig in Havana next year. See vanguardia.com or univision.com or infobae.com for more …

October 1 – Ronnie joins James Bay at the Brixton Acadamy yesterday

=> Thanks to Lien from [iorr] who found the video, we can watch Ronnie joining James Bay yesterday for the Faces’ “(You Know) I’m Losing You” at the Brixton Academy in London! So Ronnie, too, is alive and kickin’… 🙂 James Bay, if you recall, was opener for the Stones at Glastonbury and Hyde Park, etc.

September 28 – Mick and Taylor Swift did it again!

=> Mick joined Taylor Swift on stage for Satisfaction last Saturday! After all that Keith-Headlines I already became worried: where’s Mick, how’s he doing? Well, he is fine and well and also made the news just this weekend. In Nashville, he joined Taylor who is on her “1989 World Tour” for a redition of Satisfaction. See the video below and also dailymail.co.uk or nashvillescene.com for this. So no need to worry about Mick – he’s shaking his thing, hehehe. Mick also posted two pics from backstage on Facebook:

September 17 – Keith in the News all over / Gig in Cuba planned

=> Keith confirms new album! Yes, didn’t we know it? After all those bitching about Rap and Beatles and stuff, which perfectly serves as a headline booster to promote his new album, Keith gave an interview to IHeartRadio, talking again about Crosseyed Heart, which will be out tomorrow. But now he also stated something more substancial and worthwhile, namely that the band had met in London last week for a meeting to discuss the new tour of South America (even a gig in Cuba is possible! See the dutch article at volkskrant.nl for this!) in the first months of next year. He also said, they have “definite plans to record” after that. Now that’s really fine! See wrqk.com for this and also have a look at rollingstone.com for this subject.

=> Keith will be on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, tomorrow! Yes, check out his announcement at the Tonight Show’s guest page!

=> Keith and Patty, Ronnie and Sally also were seen at the GQ Awards last week! See dailymail.co.uk for more…

September 5 – Keith and the news

=> Keith is always good for some strong lines, because he has opinions (like everyone)! So there are two smaller articles where you can see how the press makes headlines out of Keith’s remarks like Metallica and Black Sabbath are just great jokes or that Rap shows that there are many tone-deaf people out there. So here are the shorter articles by NME.com and theguardian.com as well as the longer one by the nydailynews.com

August 30 – Holidays, South America Tour, Early Nugget

=> Yes, folks – Stonesnees.com is on holidays! I’m in France by now, so sorry for letting you wait for something to tell. And meanwhile, there are 2, 3 things you maybe already know, but nevertheless, here goes.

=> The South America tour plans of the Stones are not the news, but now we have a rumoured (!) list of cities! The tour would cover most of February and March 2016 and will see cities like Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Bogota, Mexico City, Montevideo and
Santiago de Chile
! See for example one spanish notice about this at univision.com where they point to an interview Keith gave the NY Times which I recommend very much ând where you can find Keith saying “We’re playing South America in February and March, and I would like to get in the studio around April or May next year. It’s been too long. They need to record. I can feel something in my bones saying we have to record.

=> Previously unreleased Rolling Stones songs from 1963 appeared! In the September issue of the British Classic Rock magazine, a reader of the magazine is quoted as saying, that he has possession of a tape which dates from March 11, 1963, the Stones’ only recording session at IBC Studios. The track list is “Diddley Daddy”, “Roadrunner”, “Bright Lights, Big City”, “I Want To Be Loved”, “Baby’s What’s Wrong”, “As Tears Go By”, “Congratulations” and “No One Loves You More Than Me”, plus a second take of “As Tears Go By” because of an apparent mistake on the earlier version. Collectors will recognize the first five tracks as having appeared on numerous bootlegs such as “Bright Lights Big City”.

The four tracks starting with “As Tears Go By”, especially “No One Loves You More Than Me”, have not apparently appeared anywhere before. The reader also notes that both takes of “As Tears Go By” are different than the record as they have the band playing on it without strings, which the Stones’ and Marianne Faithful’s versions both did. So now we can wait if the Stones are interested in releasing these tracks. IMHO, I doubt it…

August 13 – ZIP CODE Tour video

August 12 – The show in videos: Buffalo!

=> Just finished the videos from the last show in the US of the ZIP-CODE tour: Buffalo – hope you enjoy! It really was a particularly great show, IMHO! Most of the videos available from that show have really good quality. If I can choose from among several for one song, I usually look for completeness (length) first and then for quality. Then again, I prefere good sound quality over picture quality. Ok, here you go and have fun by getting closer to the experience of a Stones show than just from memory… 🙂

August 11 – Waddy on Keith and some more technical things…

=> Today, there are two more technical things to share: One is about the lightning technic of the last tours and the other is about one of Ronnie’s custom Gibson guitars.

=> But first, it’s a pleasure to read what Waddy Wachtel has to report about recording and generally being with Keith: The Tao Of Keith Richards – X-Pensive Wino Waddy Wachtel on the uniquely relaxed approach of the Rolling Stones’ riff monolith (mojo4music.com) [thx Marcelo, UC] Also don’t miss “25 solid gold moments from The Human Riff” at the bottom of the page! 🙂

=> Next, let’s remember the stages, the lightshow and video from the last tours. There has been considerable change in the concept of the last tours. No more 160 gigs with one stage, but tours with some 12 or 15 shows. Here are some interesting details from the insiders: Production Profile: The Rolling Stones Zip Code Tour (plsn.com, thx BV, IORR)

=> Last, but not least, here’s Ron Wood and the Gibson L-5S (gibson.com) and more details of this beautiful instrument: “A ’70s classic spec’d out for the ultimate rock star, with chambered maple body, five-ply neck, Burst Bucker pickups, and LP Custom-style ‘Tuxedo Features’

August 6 – Recommended Keith interview

=> Nice interview with Keith and without most of the ususal questions! That interview can be read at esquire.com – Why Sgt. Pepper was rubbish, his new solo album, Crosseyed Heart, riffs on stamina, image, the blues, the road, and working and that playing on Ronnie’s side always feels a bit weird…

July 29 – Keith Docu premieres Sept. 18

=> Morgan Neville’s Keith Richards’ Documentary “Under The Influence” is set for Netflix Premiere on Friday, September 18! The film looks at the sounds and influences of Keith and his genesis as s songwriter, guitarist and performer and the music that inspired him as he creates his first solo album in 23 years. Read more details at Deadline.com

July 25 – Video: Trouble

=> Here you have Keith’s new video, “Trouble”! [thx CKoenig, UC]

July 23 – New Album on the way! / South America Tour

=> Keith spoke to Mojo: “We’ll Do A New Stones Album After My Solo LP!” BANG! There you go! Ain’t that GOOD NEWS again? Hold on, more is coming! So, on July 28, the new issue of MOJO will be out (UK). It has Keith on it’s title. Very nice, a must have. Much more so, because in the interview you can read in full on paper then, Keith sais, that a new Rolling Stones album was in the talks even before the ZIP CODE TOUR had begun. Keith: “Will we record and tour again? I think we will … We’ll do this year, then go into the studio. … I know Mick wants to record again – he blurted it out in a meeting: ‘It’s about time we went back and recorded.’ – I was like, ‘We’re here to talk about a tour, right?’ So that will be interesting. End of the year.” Read here the announcement from Mojo. (mojo4music.com)

=> Ok! Very fine indeed! And what’s about the much talked about South America Tour, we have heared rumours about for quite some time now? Well, here also we have some good signs, that the hopes for this tour could become reality: A music magazine in Brazil had this to say: “Rolling Stones se apresentará em São Paulo em 21 e 23 de fevereiro de 2016” – that is “The Rolling Stones could do 2 shows in Sao Paulo on February 21 and 23, 2016“. That could point to some 10 or 15 gigs in South America during February, March and April 2016! Here’s the link (musica.uol.com.br) to the article.

We’ll Do A New Stones Album After My Solo LP!

July 19 – Indy show added / After the tour / Mick on Don Henley Album

=> Just added: the Indianapolis show in videos! Go ahead and enjoy!

=> Just after the tour, the band is on holidays. Mick thanked us fans via twitter: “And thanks to the crowd at @FestivalEteQc, all 102,000 of you – what a great way to end the tour. See you again soon!” – well that last bit sounds promising, but is was already clear: the Stones will continue to tour and make music as long as they like to and are capable of doing so. And they definitely should go into the studio and record new stuff!!
Ronnie could be back in Ireland – at least he is proudly tweeting over the success of his horse “Sandymount Duke” at the Tipperary Races.

=> Don Henley (Eagles) has a new country album out, called “Cass County“. Guests on the album are Merle Haggard, Mick Jagger, Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Ashley Monroe, Dolly Parton, Lucinda Williams and Trisha Yearwood. Mick added vocals and harmonica to “Bramble Rose,” a wistful song written by Tift Merritt. Read on: Rolling Stone

July 17 – Where the boys go? / Catching up: here’s Raleigh in videos

=> Ok, this tour’s over – I wonder wher the boys go… a little holiday, I guess. But after that: do they join in the studio? Are there plans for more gigs this year? I’ll keep you posted. If you should hear anything relyable: sent me that info, please!

=> Slowely I’m catching up with the shows in videos from this tour. You know – I check those videos in terms of length, sound and picture quality and then I collect them on one page. It takes some time. So for today, here’s the beautiful show in Raleigh for you! The others will follow, no doubt! Hope you enjoy!

More Information

=> According to journaldequebec.com, that last show has had the biggest crowd of this tour yet: 93.000! Here’s the full article: Foule record pour les Stones – Plus de 93 000 personnes sur les Plaines d’Abraham pour acclamer les quatre icônes du rock

Rolling Stone also has it:
Bare-bones rocker marks first track from Rolling Stones guitarist’s upcoming solo LP: The track is a stripped-down, no-nonsense rocker built around a bevy of quintessential Keef riffs — ragged, haggard blues lines that meander the fretboard and sound at once precise and just a bit “juiced up and sloppy.”
=> Uncut Magazine (UK) also has previewed Keith’s new album!Keith Richards new album Crosseyed Heart previewed (uncut.co.uk)”. Quote: Much as you would hope, a solo album by Keith Richards in 2015 sounds pretty much as it would in 1992, 1982 or 1972. Tonally, the blues still dominates; the music has a familiar, Stonesy feel to it. Crosseyed Heart is a familiar stew of rock’n’roll, country and a bit of light reggae. In fact, all that has changed, in some ways, is the voice. It sounds warmer – cask-aged, if you like…

=> Do you know the story of Keith and the blind angel? Well, when Keith was busted in Toronto in 1977, a blind girl went to the judges house, personally, and told him this simple story: when she followed the Stones on their last tour, someone told Keith about a blind girl, hitchhiking across the land, following the band from gig to gig no matter what. Keith silently arranged that her travels further on would take place in one or another of the crew vehicles so that she would get to the next gig safely. That blind girl was Rita Bedard and you can see her and Keith when they met again backstage on July 16 on that pic from Keith’s twitter account.

=> This is the last US stop for this tour this year. The Stones raise high expectations but have no problems to live up to those. Like “Rolling Stones take Buffalo by storm” (buffalo.com); also nice: “From kids to grandparents, fans turn out to see The Rolling Stones” (buffalo.com). Here’s a report from our friend Todd (thanks a lot for sending it in!):

I thought I would send you this email to try and explain to you what the mood and atmosphere was like in buffalo on saturday night. First off, the weather was perfect, brilliant full sun blue skies high temps in low 80’s F* with no humidity (rare for summer around these parts. Being on lake erie we tend to get very humid warm weather). Secondly, the “tailgating” was just excellent! Everyone cooking on charcoal grills. Steaks, burgers, hot dogs, italian sausages! Coolers stocked full of cold beer, wines, and sodas! You see, the stadium is in Orchard Park which is a southern suburb of Buffalo and there is nothing but parking lots around it for people to tailgate in. Cold drinks good food and stones music SCREAMING out of many many stereos. People were excited! People were ready for THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD!
As you already know from last years 14 On Fire and the periscope feeds from this year the boys didn’t let anyone down. You Got Me Rocking and Can’t You Hear Me Knocking were my personal favorites that night. I have not heard a negative review from anybody! And what makes me most proud was the news reports that there was 51,000 people in the show, lots of people outside stadium gates without tickets listening to the music and there were only 3 arrests! 3! That’s just unheard of around here! Its not a dangerous area but we western New Yorkers seem to “over indulge” and act rowdy and stupid at these types of events but everybody kept their cool and caught a nice buzz and enjoyed the best live music that anybody could ever experience! Once again thanks sooo much for the excellent info you help push forth to me and so many other stones fans every day and especially of this tour. I HOPE AND PRAY that this 53 year ride is not over!!!!! (Im only 34 and have been enjoying this band since 1986! Yes i was 6 i know!)

Well! Seems, Todd and his family had a blast, right? Wonderful!

JULY 10 – Crosseyed Heart / Buffalo Approaching

=> Dear folks! With Buffalo, there’s another great show approaching, I have not a single doubt. If you have seen ’em already: go there again! If you haven’t: GO THERE!! And take all of your kids with ya! I promise: you won’t regret it, never, never, ever!

=> PLEASE EXCUSE ME AND STONESNEWS.COM FOR THIS, but I CAN’T join that next-tour stop in Buffalo with you. I’m off for the weekend with my son – we are going to meet & greet H.H. the 14. Dalai Lama in Wiesbaden and Frankfurt on celebrations for his 80th birthday. We got some “PIT”-Tickets, like meet & greet, and we’re very much looking forward to that. So PLEASE excuse me for not being online on that weekend an not updating this site. I’ll be back for Tuesday, 1 day before the last tour stop in Quebec. After that tour, the Stones will maybe enter a studio to record another new album, what we all very much hope for!

=> Hear me Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ronnie? You’re kickin’ ass on this tour! Just truely wonderful! Go into the studio and record some new stuff: it’ll be alright. You are incredible and we fans are so truly blessed for enjoying this ride with you for some fucking 53 (!!!) years! Just roll on! We love you!

July 9 – Keith announces album!!

Keith at the mastering sessions for Crosseyed Heart at Sterling Sound, pictured here with the original vinyl acetate 'From Doug Pettibone's Facebook: From left to right: Larry Taylor bass, Jim Keltner drums, Keith Richards guitar and vocals, Waddy Wachtel guitar, Johnny Depp guitar, Ian McLagan keys, and Doug Pettibone pedal steel guitar.' [thx buybuyjohnny!]

=> “Crosseyed Heart” is the name of the new solo album of Keith Richards. The first single “Trouble” is set for release July 17th! Steve Jordan from the “Expensive Winos” times co-wrote and produced most of this new record; Waddy Wachtel and Bernard Fowler were also adding their bits to the whole. Other well known names who can be found among contributers to this album are Ivan Neville, Sarah Dash, Norah Jones, Spooner Oldham, Larry Campbell and Aaron Neville. The late Bobby Keys also added some notes! Keith sais, that usually, he would do some “road work” after the release of a new record, so that’s definitely a possibility. But for now, he’s still engaged with the Stones and also eager to go into the studio with them to get a follower of “A Bigger Bang” (2005) together. He said to Rolling Stone: “We’re talking about doing some recording after this tour, but there’s nothing definite. We just threw out the idea. I’d like to get the boys back in the studio again, yeah. Anything can happen … I’d like to see just how far they can evolve. I have no demands or particular visions for them, but you’re just part of this thing and I want to see how far it will go.” Read the full article at Rolling Stone.

July 8 – Detroit today!

  1. Juming Jack Flash
Thank you very much! Thank you!
    How you doin’, alright?!
  2. It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll
Hello Detroit! Hi all you Michiganders!
  3. All Down The Line
Comerica Park! Home of the Tigers! Is it going to be five years in a row?
  4. Tumbling Dice
Detroit’s got some amazing musicicans you know that, a lot of people have influenced from here like Bob Seger, Eminem and Kid Rock. But there’s something called Motown… and we want to do this song by the Temptations called JUST MY IMAGINATION, and we want to do this song as our tribute to them…
  5. Just My Imagination
This is when we do our request section and we ask the audience to shout out their favourite song…no, that’s never going to work. What we really do is put up songs on line and get you to vote for them and the most popular song wins.
Tonight we’re going to play ROCKS OFF! Fortunately we know it, we’ll give it a bash…
  6. Rocks Off (vote song)
Thank you! We definitely got through that one…
Is anyone here from Chicago? Anyone from Canada? Any You-pers? He said displaying scant local knowledge… We haven’t done any ballads really, it’s all go.
We’re going to do a couple of albums from the Sticky Fingers album. This one we do is called MOONLIGHT MILE
  7. Moonlight Mile
    Anymore slow numbers? No?
Right, that’s it, let’s go Chuck!

On the drums CHARLIE LAFAYETTE CONEY WATTS!
On the guitar and now the vocals KEITH RICHARDS!

=> Keith fell during Miss You! He slipped over some ‘Independance Day Hat’ (as you can see in the picture [thx rileyf, iorr]) on the catwalk and lay on the ground for some seconds. His handcuffs bracelet was not broken but ha had to put it back on. He must have been quite embarrased but seemd to be ok, because he quickly got up again and played the song through to the end. After Miss You he went to the back of the stage and someone seemed to quickly examine his hand. Ronnie and Mick asked if he was allright and he cept on playing the show to the end. Meanwhile, he’s ok and doing well! See also below for some pics from the gig, made by Robert Scheer, The Star for indystar.com where there are lots more:

July 2 – Raleigh Aftermath / Stones comment EXHIBITIONISM / Indy dawning…

=> Boy, what a show! I came in a little late, but what I can tell from the periscope feeds I’ve enjoyed, the band delivered a highly energetic, enthusiastic and well performed show. That’s normal for them by now, but let’s not forget, that this being said on the grounds of a really high expectation! Again, I can’t really tell from the feeds, but I think, this time they had some (technical) sound problem here and there. Some slight mishaps here and there, but that’s normal. When the reviewers state that they (in a positive sense) sound like a garage band, then, well, not bad for these ‘boring old farts’, hehehe 🙂

=> Pete send a pic to me showing his meeting with Bernard. Thank you kindly, Pete! Here’s what he tells about it: “Here’s the pic of me with Bernard. I bumped into Bernard Fowler on the street in Chicago yesterday [June 26] while on vacation with my wife. He was very gracious that I knew who he was and invited me to sit next to him on the steps for a brief conversation. He was very kind. He asked about my family and told me about his. I said how the band sounded the best they ever had and he looked me dead in the eye and repeated “ever!” Then he told me to check out his new solo album (I saw that he covered Can’t You Hear Me Knocking on it).”

=> Very nice: yesterday, the whole band visited Buddy Guy’s Club in Chicago to share some stories, talk and hear blues and enjoy themselfs. As all stones were part of the scene, that is really a rare occasion and at the same time a very good sign for the good feeling among the group members during this tour. Apparently, they wanted this evening to be added for their tour documentary. Keith was there before the rest of the Stones came and played pool with Buddy and signing the white Gibson ES he gave to him as you can see in “Shine A Light”. It was also seen later, when they were all there, that Ronnie and Keith shot pictures of Buddy playing on stage with their phones. Wow! Never knew that Keith has and even uses a handy! Maybe the times he only sends FAX are gone for good, hehehe … Rolling Stone has a nice article about the event and a video (see below), too, so go there and check it out!

June 24 – Milwaukee aftermath

=> Stood up early (3:30 AM) to catch the gig and the periscopes – haven’t slept since. And up come the first reviews! This is a rather nice one:
The Rolling Stones starts up Summerfest with a bang (jsonline.com) | … more to come for sure…

=> My own little review: what a gig! And thanks to Debbie, who again scoped the complete show, I can venture to write some words about the show although I haven’t been there in person. Thanks so much, Debbie! Well, as you can see, they really mixed up the setlist quite a bit. Of course, as this was a relatively small audience of only about 25,000 people in Marcus Amphitheater. In stadiums almost thrice the size, that is not so easy for them. Buddy Guy opend and joined them for “Champagne & Reefer”, Keith nailed all of his solos (he’s really playing well). However, the intro for Honky Tonk Women was a bit shakey due to some uncommon cowbell playing by Chuck. Moonlight Mile was again taken into the set, but they also played CYHMK and Heartbreaker. Ronnie really shined on his solo spots. A rock solid show, but even better.

July 20, 2011 (and for eternity) – The Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers And The Lost Photo Session

Ok, this comes a bit late. But since there are no more news about the possible gigs for Hide Park or anything like a tour in 2012 right now, I thought we could use the occasion and look back over yonder…

Recently, a treasure of photographs were discoverd after photographer Peter Webb‘s negatives went missing after shooting the Stones for that monster record “Sticky Fingers“. Then, out of nowhere, they are re-discovered after a gap of almost 40 years. Let’s have a look… oh man, have a look at Keith’s eyes
