March 25 – Havanna aftermath

=> A selection of press coverage: Rolling Stones play free concert in Havana (reuters.com) | Pleased to meet you: Rolling Stones treat Cuba to spectacular and historic gig (theguardian.com) | It’s not only Rock ‘n’ Roll (german zeit.de) | Rolling Stones rock Cuba ready for ‘change’ (news.yahoo.com) | Personal Look at the Rolling Stones’ Historic Cuba Concert (nytimes.com) | Rolling Stones Play Historic Free Concert in Cuba (nbcnews.com) | …

=> What’s next? Well, the Stones will be heading to London in order to open their EXHIBITIONISM, we are looking forward to their new album later this year, the new special deluxe edition of Totally Stripped and, last but not least, the documentary about their first show in Cuba! And there’s more to come, so let’s roll on!

March 25 – Party Time for Havanna!

=> The show has ended! Sadly, no streams were available. I’m looking forward to the press coverage that event will get and we all will be enjoying the YouTube videos from this show we can expect to be up in about 1 or 2 days. From the official site, we have this resumee at the end of this tour: Tonight the Rolling Stones played a historic show at Havana’s Ciudad Deportiva, to probably their biggest ever crowd … Mick said, “Here we are finally! We are sure that this night is going to be an unforgettable night, for you and for us … We know that years ago it was difficult to listen to our music here in Cuba, but here we are, playing for you in your beautiful land. I think that finally things have changed, haven’t they?” The Rolling Stones are now heading back to their hometown of London, where they will open their exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery, on 5th April. Also, we can expect the release of “Totally Stripped” (see below), the new album they already recorded songs for as well as hopefully some new tour behind that new album – but just let’s wait and see. What a fucking great band they are!!

More Information

=> As already noted, the Cuba show will be documented by the band. So far, there’s no word about an official PPV or free streaming. There’s a small hope that Periscope streams will be available, but that’s more wishful thinking than something we can expect to happen. But nevertheless – it’s not impossible either. Anyway, I’ll be there and right in time! You, too, I hope!

March 10 – Bogota

=> PERISCOPE feeds for us tonight is a bit OFF this time. Also, there are not many live pictures coming from the show. Before the show, RS.com gave us this note, maybe this explaines some of this:So far there’s no sign of the rain that blighted the afternoon. Soundcheck was rained off by a heavy downpour and plenty of lightning, but fortunately the stage has been dried by the diligent crew. The bad weather also meant some challenging working conditions backstage, including floods, leaks, power-cuts and wifi out-ages, but we are now back in business.” // // Nevertheless, still SEARCHING!!

[…] The international arrivals board said that the Rolling Stones landed shortly after six o’clock Thursday afternoon. The band left quietly Jorge Chavez airport and used an alternate way to the international departures gate, so they had no contact with their fans. In a caravan, the group went to their hotel in San Isidro. A little more than 100 people waited in place in fron of the hotel, when the group arrived in a grey and a white limousine.

March 3 – Porto Alegre / Luciana Giminez interviews Mick!

=> What a rain-drenched show that was last night! But it was also one hell of a show! Although not attending the show, I joined the Periscope stream as on every show of this tour. And lucky we were: Fernando’s feed lasted from the intro to the final bows – and it was just fantastic! The band was on fire and was rolling with full steam despite the pouring rain. We are incredibly lucky, folks, being fans of this unbelievable band!!

=> Luciana Giminez, mother of Mick’s youngest son, Lucas (16), has intervied Mick recently and asked him about ‘Vinyl’, the relationship within the band and family matters… Nice: we have that interview on YouTube!:

=> Woah! Does the band play Cuba in March and Las Vegas before this year ends? At least that’s what can be understood from the article by Robin Leach in the Las Vegas Sun! There, the important lines are: “I can reliably confirm that initial discussions have been held for The Rolling Stones to play the new T-Mobile Arena before year’s end. […] Cuban and Spanish newspapers are reporting from President Raoul Castro’s inner circles that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts have a March 20-21 date, the same as President Barack Obama’s scheduled visit, in a 100,000-capacity Havana park. […] AEG officials from Las Vegas flew to Rio de Janeiro last week to talk with the band about the possible Las Vegas dates.” Isn’t that just crazy? Wonderful! Our band keeps on rolling! God I love The Rolling Stones!

July 20, 2011 (and for eternity) – The Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers And The Lost Photo Session

Ok, this comes a bit late. But since there are no more news about the possible gigs for Hide Park or anything like a tour in 2012 right now, I thought we could use the occasion and look back over yonder…

Recently, a treasure of photographs were discoverd after photographer Peter Webb‘s negatives went missing after shooting the Stones for that monster record “Sticky Fingers“. Then, out of nowhere, they are re-discovered after a gap of almost 40 years. Let’s have a look… oh man, have a look at Keith’s eyes
