October 24 – 2 x Keith: new music + Run Rudolph Run + Happy birthday Bill!

=> Keith is alive – and kickin’! Yes, he is. On September 21st, he posted a pic on Twitter, saying “Working on some new music…” – see it below. Well that keeps our hopes alive and I wonder how long it will take for them to finish that damn new record, hehehe, – gey, we can’t wait!!

=> There’s a nice christmas gem not only for the collectors: Keith’s version of Run Rudolph Run (40th Anniversary) will be released on 12″ 45 RPM red vinyl with a limited edition of 3000 copies 23rd November (Black Friday)! Side A will have ‘Run Rudolph Run’ and ‘Pressure Drop’, side B ‘The Harder They Come’ on it. See the pic below and recordstoreday.com

=> Happy birthday, Bill! Rock solid swingin’ bass player is celebrating this 82nd birthday – an you believe it?

Keith: Working on some new music ... Black Friday release of Keith Richards Run Rudolph Run (40th Anniversary)

October 2 – Mick dances / Voodoo uncut

=> Mick “danced his ass off” yesterday at Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing’s party in Paris after his latest show… See pagesix.com for this and see a little (!) clip from that at instagramdeborahhung also got a nice pic of the dinner thereafter

=> Something to REALLY look forward to: Voodoo Lounge Uncut! This multiple format release “presents for the first time the full, unedited show filmed on November 25th 1994 at Miami’s Joe Robbie Stadium. […] Guest appearances from Sheryl Crow, Robert Cray and Bo Diddley […] As an added bonus, all visual formats feature five tracks from an earlier date on the Voodoo Lounge Tour that weren’t performed in Miami” … those being Shattered, Out Of Tears, All Down The Line, I Can’t Get Next To You and Happy. So it’s a 28 + 5 songs release. Very nice!!! It will be out in the stores by November 16; pre-order your format at eagle-rock.com or amazon etc… and don’t forget to check the more detailed infos at rollingstone.com

More Information

September 10 – Some interesting reads

=> This time, it’s almost all about women! Hello! magazine published an interview with Sally Wood (hellomagazine.com) which is a nice read – Sally, Ronnie and their twins seem to be happy, healthy and looking forward to the years to come. The secon one is about two mothers of Mick’s children, Melanie Hamrick and Luciana Gimenez (dailymail.co.uk)

September 6 – Mick plays harp to new music

=>It sounds bluesy, strong and sharp – and Mick’s playing harp to it! So we see, that new music is in the making and Mick is still going strong. No wonder. Whar a guy! What a band. Especially Keith will enjoy this little peace, because he loves Mick playing harp… if haven’t seen and heard it already, go have a look at Mick’s tweet!

August 29 – RECOMMENDED READ!

=> Yes folks, this interview is recommended to read! This is an interview with Joyce Smyth, the manager of The Rolling Stones for the past eight years and it can be found under musicbusinessworldwide.com.
Asked “Will there be a follow-up album, in the same vein?“, Joyce had this for an answer:
They are certainly hoping to create some new music, maybe looking at some other genres. They’re creative people. They’re in a little bit of a holiday period at the minute, but they hope to be back in the studio soon, watch this space.” – got it? 😉

August 26 – Mick island hopping // Carly Simon duet

=> Mick is happy hopping from island to island in the greece sea! Nice picture and report atgreece.greekreporter.com – so Mick visited Tinos and heads over to Antiparos. He’s doing really well, it seems!

=> A lost Mick Jagger duet with Carly Simon has been found more than 45 years after it was first recorded! That’s what was tweeted by the Star Tribune – read all of this at startribune.com

Mick happy hopping the Aegean islands - pic:greekreporter.com

August 20 – Mick is coming “back to it” / Voodoo Lounge Uncut DVD / Brown Sugar from Nicaragua

=> Mick posted a nice sound snippet! You can see it on Instagramas well as Facebook. Funny: Lucas answered to this: “Get a strap pls. Don’t do it one legged“, hehehe ..

=> Upcoming new DVD release! The Rolling Stones – Voodoo Lounge Uncut, Eagle Rock Entertainment Ltd. Running times:
Voodoo Lounge Uncut 149:46, Bonus Tracks: 24:06
Can be expected for release during the next months, I think.

=> Brown Sugar at the Nicaraguan Benefit Concert! If you haven’t already seen it, check out the video from 1973 when the Stones performed in Nicaragua a Benefit Concert full video version of Brown Sugar from Nicaragua show! This time, it’s the complete song plus interview. See it here at YouTube – also, Rolling Stones has some background on that concert and surrounding events.

August 8 – Billbord about the last tour

=> That was rather successful, especially the 2nd leg! Billboard magazine reports the numbers of that last tour the Rolling Stones did. In short, tha band played to 1.5 million fans and all of the 28 shows were sold-out. The 2nd leg of the European tour alone grossed $117,844,618 and had more than 750,874 tickets sold. That’s ain’t bad huh? Nicely, Billboard writes that the follow-up-tour has not yet been announced! For more on this subject, read the article at billboard.com.

July 27 – Mick’s new bush hat // Recommended Read: Jade Jagger

=> Mick’s new bush hat … Mick thanked for his many celebratory birthday messages: “Thank you for all the birthday wishes, I’m enjoying a break and I got a new bush hat!” See his pic below. Lucas answered: “That doesn’t look very new” – more on Mick and Lucas and ‘dorky dad’ comments: dailymail.co.uk (“Mick Jagger is hilariously trolled by son Lucas, 19, on his birthday snap… after the icon’s ‘dorky dad’ comments went viral”)

=> Nice article, fun to read: Jade Jagger On The Joys Of An Unconventional Family (vogue.co.uk)

July 26 – Happy, HAPPY Birthday, Mick! // Keith wants more dates …

=> The man has birthday today! I guess, we all are extremely grateful to Sir Mick Jagger for all he has done for us! An extraordinary showman and extremely gifted singer – he is a legend. So, MICK: after the party is over, go get the other guys and give us another string of gigs!

Recommended read:
A Birthday Salute to Mick Jagger: 75 Years of Sympathy for the Devil by By Rob Sheffield, rollingstone.com

Mick Jagger 75

=> Keith – of course – wants to do more gigs… Mick too! The last tour began last year in Hamburg and ended this year in Warshaw – the Stones have played to 1.38 million fans; the tour grossed abour 190 million Euros. As Jo Wood tells, as she visited Keith and Patty in their home: “I went to see Patti and Keith last weekend down at their home, Redlands. He is doing so well. Keith enjoyed their tour. […] He wants to do more. You know what he is like.” Mick, too, recently remarked: “There is going to come a point when we don’t want to do it any more, but I’m not thinking about that this summer.“. See more at mirror.co.uk. So we can be sure that there will be more gigs, more music and more tours as long as the band members are capable to perform. Thank god, they are musicians, not athletes – they would have had to call it quits already 30 years before, hehehe …

July 14 – Mick parties // They got backstage // From The Vault: San Jose ’99

=> Mick, Nicole Scherzinger and rapper Nas partied the night away in a Russian nightclub last night! See thesun.co.uk and pagesix.com for more on this.

=> This dream became true: A family from Ottawa flew in to Warsaw to see the Stones close their current leg of their tour. And then… check out their story at ottawacitizen.com

=> From The Vault: San Jose 1999! Just out and recommended – the latest release of unseen footage, fresh ‘From The Vault’: No Security captures a stand-out Stones show, with the band on searing form during the closing leg of their American tour in San Jose. Go & get it! 🙂

July 12 – Ups, he did it again! // The Ronnie Wood Show!

=> I’m sorry for you, England! But you didn’t have a chance in the first place, since that curse stroke again… Even now, as the UK team has successfully mastered the penalty shootout, it didn’t prevent it from loosing again, because Mick was in the stadium, too. He has a reputation for bringing bad luck to teams he supports… when he supported Brasil and they got defeated by Germany with 7 – 1, he later admitted: “I can take responsibility for the first German goal but not the other six.” – ROTFL! See The Curse of Mick Jagger (thesun.co.uk) – similar reports by variety.com /// pedestrian.tv /// dailymail.co.uk

=> AXS.tv broadcasts Ronnie’s TV show with 6 dates and illustrous interview guests! Sorry for beeing late here: the first date happened already yesterday. (Thx 35love, IORR, for pointing it out) AXS.TV – the Ronnie Wood Show and I hope you are not GEO-restricetd… Here are the upcoming dates for Ronnie’s show:
July 11 – Sir Paul McCartney *One-hour special*
July 18 – Alice Cooper & Ian McLagan
July 25 – Slash & Kelly Jones
August 1 – Mark Ronson & Bobby Gillespie
August 8 – Mick Hucknall & Steve Cropper
August 15 – Pattie Boyd & Toots

July 10 – What a band – what a tour!!!

=> So, … what’s next?? 🙂 Well, I think, we can safely expect them to stay for some time more. See for example the pic of Ronnie’s setlist on the left – he wrote in the upper right corner “End of this Leg” – so what does this tell us? 🙂
All the reviews have been massively positive and reportedly impressed by the band’s stamina, presence and power. As we know, they have quite a bunch on new songs in the can, so we can look forward to a new album – maybe even this year. That should be followed by a tour like 2017 and 2018 – maybe the US or South America. So let’s keep our ears and eyes open! By now, the band will head to their families and holidays. Just saw Mick on TV – he’s in Russia, enjoying the soccer match Begium vs. France…

=> Tour aftermath: The Rolling Stones Wrap Up No Filter Tour (bestclassicbands.com) /

Mick Jagger Speaks to Support Poland’s Judges at Rolling Stones’ Warsaw Concert (billboard.com) /

=> Meanwhile, as of July 8th, the band and Universal have announced new partnership! The Rolling Stones and Universal Music Group have announced a worldwide agreement covering the band’s musical and audio-visual catalogues, archival support, global merchandising and brand management. That includes back-issues and many other facents of their brand, including tour-merchandize! Hehehe, got the hint? Also, we can look forward to ne issues out of their From The Vault series, including the long awaited Atlantic City 1989 (they write “Atlanta 89”, but that should be corrected, I guess … Ok, have a look for yourself: rte.ie/entertainment/ and The New York Post, too.

June 25 – Some echoes from Berlin

=> A great show! That’s what most people said after the show in Berlin’s Olympiastadium. Our Stones-Hero Debbie had streamed almost the whole gig and from her position – altough FOS – one could have guessed, that this audience was particularly lame. But that’s not really true. According to many reports from folks with tickets for this show, the audience was wild and enthusiastic. And here are some of the print-reports: Interview with Keith (I’m thankful to still be here…, bz-berlin.de) /// Rolling Stones in Berlin: Zwischen Hits und Hexenwerk ‘Between Hits and Witchcraft’ – there also is a nice gallery (haz.de) /// And another gallery with pics from the Berlin show (facebook) /// Mick Jagger und Co in Berlin – Rolling Stones rocken das Olympiastadion (tagesspiegel.de)
