Chanelle Haynes will go on tour with The Rolling Stones on their US tour in 2024.

Together with Darryl Jones, Chuck Leavell, Matt Clifford,  Tim Ries, Karl Denson and Bernard Fowler, she will be part of the backing band and especially responsible for the ‘Merry Clayton’ part of Gimme Shelter.

In 2022, the Tina Turner impersonator really had the balls to quit an scheduled evening show of the Tina Turner Musical in favour to play with The Rolling Stones and in order to jump in for Sasha Allen who couldn’t perform that night. Don’t miss rollingstone.com for the story of this!

Due to the ‘overwhelming demand’, The Rolling Stones have added second date at Chicago‘s Soldier Field show to their 2024 Hackney Diamonds tour – Sunday, June 30! Here’s the list of tourdates by now, also added to the startpage:

The tour sponsor, the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) had their website crashed due to the ‘unexpected high demand‘ of presale tickets. The important word in here is ‘unexpected’ IMHO. I think, they could have forseen this, right? However, the site was back up and running by the afternoon.

According to lanatione.it, Mick and Keith are or have been in Firence, Italy. “According to rumors, the two stars had been in Florence for about ten days with their entire entourage made up of sound technicians, producers, service and security personnel, busy creating some songs for a new musical project.” By now, they have left Firence again, it is said.

Reports tell all about the things that happen during hunts like those now. Waiting in the queue, broken connections, seat-maps not showing up and all other kinds of mishaps. Of course, if everything went smooth and well, the pressure to tell about this is not that big in comparison. However, prices like $ 700.- or more for the pit or more for one of the packages will be discussed again like before every tour the band has done since the sixties, hehehe …

A good idea as an alternative is to check out the official Stones site and wait for the button for Lucky Dip tickets to appear there. Ok, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get great seats (but you may) but then you’re there at the show (that’s what counts IMHO) and for a cool price, too.

Not only that, they also write about a huge tour with dates stretching not only across the US, but could even include the UK!

So in this case, I really hope we can trust these lines; meanwhile, ultimateclassicrock.com too, points towards an announcement which can soon be expected. Maybe tomorrow, 2PM CET…
