The set list needs help. Its stale and horrid. Give it to Keith-leave the others out.

No problem with opinions, there are multiple. For me, they could play only what THEY like, without caring for audiences or other things, and I’ld be glad to witness.
In reality, on a production scale like this, there have to be compromises! Many folks see the Stones for the first time, a lot more only know 3 or 4 songs, etc.
The kind of setlist hard core fans would like to hear would not work on a stadium scale, right? 40.000 to 60.000 people have paid for their tickets and all of them want to have a blast…
      Go figure…

You are correct except for 1 point you made: Without a survey is impossible to know the % seeing them for the first time or others like me seeing them since 1965. Somewhere in the late1980’s their set list got very compromised and that’s 40 years ago. Play what they love at this point in their lives-not what they think their fans want to hear. They have so much non-commercial songs to choose from. It is a boring, un-challenging set list that for long time fans is tough to watch.

          Hi Richard – ok, cool.
I’m a long time fan, although not from that early. I just spoke of ‘many’ and shure enough, I don’t know the exact percentage, but I think, that’s not important. Generally, us fans usually know very much about the band, its history and that for a long time. At the same time, to me it’s obvious, that this is not the average level of fanship you will meet in a stadium show. But that’s alright. If the setlist really sucks for some long time fans, then that’s ok too. For me, I’m just happy as can be due to the simple fact, that they are on tour in the first place. It’s a little miracle, really. Of course, if I had a wish free, like I wrote: I would like to sit in with them while rehearsing, playing 1 numer several times or let them play what they want – I’ll be happy. As this ain’t gonna happen anytime soon, I’m satisfied with what they play. If I wouldn’t, I’ld just stay away, and that would be 100% Ok, too…

    C’est La Vie.
In my thinking, its still a huge bore-no matter their age. Guess I expected more or something different. It does say a bit about who they are as people I think. Please yourself or please the masses. At this age, I vote for the former.
    Thanks for the chat.

Most groups cater to the masses.

I was wishing for a little more of the new album since its the Hackney Diamonds tour.

Keith will probably start doing Tell Me Straight.

But I was hoping they do more than just one other song per show besides Angry and Sweet Sounds.

The reality is though, that probably 80 percent of the people at the show or more have not bought or heard the whole new album.
