2) “My Life As A Rolling Stone film in 4 parts about Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie!

In July, the BBC celebrates 60 glorious years of The Rolling Stones with a star-studded season of programming across television, radio and digital platforms. The centrepiece is a world-exclusive four-part series of films, My Life As A Rolling Stone, to premiere on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, produced by Mercury Studios, and presented by Sienna Miller.
[…]
Four hour-long films, each an intimate portrait of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts, show how these individual musical geniuses came together to make the music that has provided the soundtrack to the lives of millions.
[…]
Contributors are Tina Turner, Bernard Fowler, Chrissie Hynde, Jon Bon Jovi, Lars Ulrich, Joyce Smyth, Rod Stewart, Sheryl Crow, Slash, P.P. Arnold, Tommy Hilfiger, Andy Summers, Anna Sui, Brian Johnson, Chip Monck, Don Was, Glyn Johns, John Pasche, Lisa Fischer, Lulu Kennedy-Cairns.
The series is directed by award-winning filmmakers, Mick Jagger – Sam Anthony (Stewart Copeland’s Adventures In Music; Me, My Selfie And I With Ryan Gander); Keith Richards – Oliver Murray (Bill Wyman, The Quiet One); Ronnie Wood – Clare Tavernor (Keith Richards: A Culture Show Special); and Charlie Watts – James Giles (Can You Feel It – How Dance Music Conquered The World; The Longest Reign: The Queen And Her People); executive producer is Steve Condie (Keeler, Profumo, Ward And Me; Thatcher: A Very British Revolution; Skinhead).
All four of the films will be live on BBC iPlayer from Saturday 2 July, with the Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood films broadcast back to back next week on BBC Two, and the Charlie Watts film later in July.
[…]
In addition to the four-part BBC Two series, a curated collection of landmark concerts and documentaries will be available on BBC iPlayer including Sticky Fingers Live at the Fonda Theatre (2015), The Rolling Stones – Totally Stripped (2016), Live Licked in NYC (2003), Crossfire Hurricane (2012), Some Girls: Live In Texas ’78, and The Rolling Stones Live At The Wiltern Theatre (2002).
And on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds is a world exclusive two-hour audio documentary, Rolling With The Stones, drawn from hours of unheard interviews from the band’s own archives, alongside rarely heard music and performances.

I’m not shure about how to get access to these, but I’m sure to find this on YT, sooner or later… really looking forward to these!!

Hyde Park I Aftermath

Rolling Stones - London Hyde Park 2022

Wow! Hyde Park! The Rolling Stones live!

From looking at the show by using the few streams we got, it must have been another blast and really goog show. Right from the beginning of this tour, I had the impression of some added energy, verve and tghtness by the band, Keith in particular seemes to play faster, with more variants and less mishaps than before. And Mick – I don’t know how to call it. He’s just unbelievable. When I see those videos, it’s  hard to trust my eyes and ears. Woody still looks like he had just gone though hard troubles – and he has, indeed. That said, I’m in awe and so very happy to see him play and enjoying the shows. His playing also seems to have got more deliberate and sometimes he has room to take his time and develop the solo he presents.

What can I say. I’m so proud of this band and to be a fan! May it last forever – I enjoy every second of it!

Here’s some of the press on last night’s gig:

Sasha is back with the band!

It was 1069 when the Stones first played the Park – with Brian’s replacement Mick Taylor as his fist public gig. The show was free back then and so the ausdience counted way up high into the thousands, estimated later between 250,000–500,000 spectators.

That’s a story of it’s own and I’ld like to recommend a nice report on this to bridge the gap until showstart for you to read at andnowitsallthis.blogspot.com

Dawn in the park!

Ticket One Italia

Tomorrow, London’s Hyde Park will yet again see The Rolling Stones!

Good news first: the London weather forcast for Saturday tell of a partly cloudy but dry summer day with approximely 20° Celsius – very good conditions for a Rock’n’Roll show!

It’s their turf! The Rolling Stones, in their sixtieth year of playing live will play the Park tomorrow. History in the making. Yes, we are an incredible lucky bunch of fans to witness this outstanding occasion. Who else could tell of such an amzing achievement? Who would have thought it would come to something like this, 60 fucking years before? I’ll repeat it: this is crazy, unbelievable and incedibly awesome!

Oh, and the song vote yet again is off – seems that this feature has seen it’s last days. But we can be sure that we will see an especially appropriate set list when The Stones play their home town tomorrow!

New tourdate: BERLIN!

Berlin, August 3

Exciting: The Rolling Stones just announced an additional date: Berlin, August 8, Waldbühne!

1) So this would be the new end of tour show instead of Stockholm! Last time they played the Waldbühne was 2014 – and I was happy enough to have been there…

2) Too bad: the show in Bern can’t be rescheduled:

After much back and forth it is now clear: The Rolling Stones concert in Switzerland will definitely fall through. For the organizer Gadget abc, this means a loss of millions.

Actually, the Stones should have performed last Friday at the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern. But band frontman Mick Jagger (78) fell ill with Corona. According to André Bechir from the concert promoter Gadget abc, the band even extended their tour to give an alternative concert.

Milano aftermath

Rolling stones - Milano 2022 - Lithograph

That definitely was a good show by The Rolling Stones.

The majority of accounts one can find in the web tell of a band in high spirits and tight sound. Especially Mick was able to impress the audience with his singing and enthusiasm. And that’s particularly good news after his infection with Covid19. He seems to be fully recovered. I for one expected him to spare his voice, but apparently, that was not the case. It could be, though, that the 2 extra songs, Dead Flowers and Wild Horses, were added in the setlist to let his voice relax a bit for some minutes. But that’s just a guess.

Then, Sasha Allen was missing for this show! Insead of her, three Ghost Hounds backup singers – Amy Keys, Kenna Ramsey and Kamilah Marshall joined Bernard on the stage. We still don’t know exactly, what the deal with Sasha is, whether she has cought Covid of something else had happend. So then the show arrived at Gimme Shelter and who would be singing this part with Mick now? That was done by another great lady singer, Chanel Haynes, who is one of the two singers to play Tina Turner in the musical of the same name. That can be clearly seen and heard by her performance of this song, captured in YT videos as you can see below.

Have you been at the show? How was the show in your opinion? Can you tell a story? Just send your words to me or just leave a comment below!

After bad news comes the good news – Mick is well and the show at Milano will take place as planned!

That’s what the band tweeted just a few hours ago.

As I look for the song vote at RS.com right now, they seem to be at work on this right now, because the date is shown as “January 1, 1970” (the dummy date if you don’t enter any value) and the 4 songs don’t appear

The band has confirmed, that the Amsterdam show is now erscheduled to July 7!

As for the question about to what date the Bern concert would be rescheduled, the announcement read: “We’re working on it and will let you know asap!” (Twitter).

And: the Milan date – is it still confirmed? The answer: “All other dates from next week are scheduled to go ahead as planned, we’ll see you next week“.

So that’s the time table this tour has for the next gigs up to now. The best news is, that Mick’s doing fine and diesn’t seem to suffer a severe course.
